Lady Gaga shares kindness and powerful message on visit with LGBT teens

For Lady Gaga, kindness has been the key to finding peace in her own life.
"I've been searching for ways to help myself. And I found that kindness is the best way," she told TODAY recently while on a visit to Harlem's Ali Forney Center, a shelter for homeless LGBT youth, to surprise the teens living there.
She's a superstar singer and passionate activist, but when Lady Gaga meets a trauma survivor, she's just one of them."I told the kids today, 'I suffer from PTSD.' I've never told anyone that before. So here we are. But the kindness that's shown to me by doctors as well as my family, and my friends, it's really saved my life."

"Meditation helps me to calm down," she told the teens, whom she led in a brief meditation exercise during her visit. "I don't have the same kind of issues that you have, but I have a mental illness and I struggle with that everyday so I need my mantra to help keep me relaxed.&qu…

AJ Nelson Launches “Wise Up For Peace” Campaign

Ghanaian rap artiste, AJ Nelson, is the latest Ghanaian celebrity to launch a peace cause ahead of the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Dubbed “Wise Up For Peace”, AJ Nelson carries a message of peace and making choices based on issues and with wisdom.

Explaining why he is doing this peace campaign after his colleagues have taken the lead, AJ said he is not following the same trait. Instead, he is adopting a social media strategy and will involve the masses rather than influential people.

“I am not doing this campaign because my colleagues have done the same. There’s an Akan proverb that says ‘plenty fish doesn’t spoil the soup’ and if you have been following me from day one, you would realise that I have always been a peace ambassador. Through my music and interviews, I have been preaching peace.

“My peace campaign is not the same as what some of my colleagues are doing. Me, being a poet and a writer, I like to put my works on paper so people can see and ta…

Shatta Wale performs at NDC rally

Controversial Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale Monday evening performed at the Greater Accra regional rally of the National Democratic Congress.

In what can be interpreted as an endorsement for the ruling government, Shatta Wale performed his hit song Mahama paper and a couple of songs right after the president addressed the mammoth crowd at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Shatta Wale has on several occasions failed to endorse any of the two major political parties despite both of them using his songs on their campaign trail.

Dressed in an all-white attire, the ‘Baby’ hitmaker used the occasion to also call for a peaceful election on Wednesday December 7. Thousands of Ghanaians Monday besieged the Accra Sports Stadium Monday for NDC’s final rally ahead of Wednesday’s election.

Addressing the crowd, the President, John Dramani Mahama said the opposition New Patriotic Party was preparing the grounds to reject the results of the election if they lose Wednesday’s polls.

According to him, the…

Madonna says she feels betrayed by women who voted for Trump

According to figures from exit polls in the just concluded US election, Trump received 42 percent of the female vote and Madonna just can't wrap her head around it. Speaking to Billboard magazine, she said Trump's victory felt like someone died and she feels betrayed by women who voted him.

'It felt like someone died,' she told Billboard. 'It felt like a combination of the heartbreak and betrayal you feel when someone you love more than anything leaves you, and also a death. 'I feel that way every morning; I wake up and say, "Oh, wait, Donald Trump is still the president," and it wasn't a bad dream that I had.'The outcome of the election, according to Madonna, 'feels like women betrayed us.'
'Women hate women. That's what I think it is. Women's nature is not to support other women. It's really sad,' she said.Women plan to march on Washington, DC the day after Trump's inauguration on January 20 - and the po…

Woyome confirms giving money to Anyidoho, others

Businessman Alfred Woyome has confirmed claims by the opposition New Patriotic Party that he gave monies to some key members of the NDC after he was paid the controversial judgment debt by government in 2010.
The NPP's communications director Nana Akomea at a press conference today alleged that the embattled businessman was very generous to leading figures of the ruling family including its general secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia and former presidential spokesperson Koku Anyidoho after he received the huge payment from the state.

In a counter statement on the issue, Mr Woyome admitted giving monies to some officials of the NDC but added that his financial support for the party predates the payment of the judgment debt to him.

"The support increased before 2008 and beyond.
Steve Kpordzi was repaid monies he borrowed to Mr Woyome personally.
Koku Anyidoho was supposed to refund a debt of printed party T-Shirts that Mr Woyome promised to refund on behalf of the Part…
