Former Miss Ghana Naa Okailey Shooter marries Edern Security CEO

Model and 2012 winner of the Miss Ghana pageant Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter, who also came third at Miss World 2013, tied the knot yesterday in a private ceremony.
She is now the wife of Paul Eddy Quartey, CEO of Edern Security. A month ago, she graduated from the University of Ghana as a dental surgeon.

She’s also alumnus of Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School, and runs the Naa Okailey Shooter Foundation, which provides free medical care for rural communities.

ECOWAS appoints Mahama to co-chair The Gambia mediation process

President John Mahama has been assigned to co-chair of the ECOWAS mediation committee in to solve the political deadlock in The Gambia.
President Mahama and Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari will be hoping to convince Yahya Jammeh to accept defeat in presidential elections in December.
The mediation committee formed at the 50th ordinary session of the authority of heads of state and government in Abuja has been tasked to ensure Gambian president, who has been in power for 22 years, hands over power leader of the opposition coalition, Adama Barrow.

Addressing the summit, Mr Mahama who also lost power to Ghana’s opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo called on his colleagues in the sub-region to honour the investiture of Ghana’s incoming President on January 7.
He revealed he will be taking a long break after which he will take up international assignments once he exits office.
The ECOWAS leaders also commended the outgoing Ghanaian President for his exemplary leadership.

Becca robbed; passport, other items and money stolen

Ghanaian singer, Rebecca Acheampong known in showbiz as Becca was robbed on Friday night.

Confirming the incident to DJ Willy on Adom FM’s Afromix Show Saturday, the devastated singer said the robbers broke into her car which was parked outside a house around Chez Afrique at East Legon in Accra and made away with everything.
“I just parked my car and entered the house and I got a call from outside that somebody has broken into the car. When I went out, I realised that they had broken into my car.

"The security and everybody around never saw how the things were stolen. They broke the window, went into the car and picked everything. Everything happened within a matter of 30 minutes. I just had the call 30 minutes after I had parked the car."

Queen's 90th birthday portrait released

A photograph of the Queen and the Prince of Wales has been released to mark the end of her 90th birthday year.
The photo shows the Queen with her son Prince Charles in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle.
Previously unpublished, it was taken before the final night of celebrations at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May.

Fashion photographer Nick Knight, who took the photo, said he had wanted to create something that showed "warmth, humanity... strength and tradition".
The Queen, who last year became Britain's longest-reigning monarch, turned 90 years old in April. 
She celebrated the occasion with a series of events, including a private black tie banquet at Windsor Castle with her friends and loved ones.
Queen Elizabeth's official birthday was marked in June with a service of thanksgiving and a picnic on The Mall, in central London, for 10,000 guests.

Blac Chyna is done.The 28-year-old model took to Instagram minutes after Rob Kardashian told his Snapchat followers that she had left their house with baby Dream to tell her side of the story.

Zimbabwe's Zanu-PF confirms Mugabe as 2018 election candidate

Zimbabwe's governing Zanu-PF party has confirmed President Robert Mugabe as its candidate for the 2018 elections. 
Mr Mugabe, who is 92, has been in power since independence from Britain in 1980. 
At the party's conference, the Zanu-PF youth wing even proposed that Mr Mugabe should be declared president for life.

However, there have been unprecedented protests this year against Zimbabwe's economic turmoil and Mr Mugabe's leadership.
The Zanu-PF has also suffered serious infighting as factions battle it out to succeed Mr Mugabe once he eventually leaves.
His supporters broke into thunderous applause and chanted "tongai, tongai baba" [rule, rule father] as the Zanu-PF annual conference in the south-eastern town of Masvingo nominated Mr Mugabe on Saturday.
'One family'
In his acceptance speech, Mr Mugabe called for an end to party infighting.
"We agreed that conflicts should end. Infighting should end. The party ideology should be followed," he said…
