Mark Zukerberg introduces Jarvis, his virtual home assistant

Facebook founder, Mark Zukerberg, on Tuesday, introduced Jarvis to the world. Jarvis is a home assistant with a difference – he isn’t human, but an app. This software was developed by the tech entrepreneur to meet a variety of needs around the house, from turning off the light, adjusting the room temperature to one that is favourable, preparing meals and even supplying Mark with a change of clothes.

Jarvis responds to Mark’s voice and talks back to him, lets guests in after a facial identification, it also alerts him of his schedule and things going on within the house, for instance, when Max, Mark’s daughter with wife Priscilla, woke from sleep, Jarvis informed Mark about it. There is very little that Jarvis cannot do around the house as can be seen in the video shared by Mark.

While the app was still being built, Priscilla, Mark’s wife, encountered some issues with it initially. At first, the app only responded to Mark’s voice, completely ignoring Priscilla’s instructions…

Kanye West Cancels European Leg of Saint Pablo Tour (Report)

Kanye West's European fans are in for a major disappointment.
Fresh off the heels of his recent psychiatric hospitalization in November, West is cancelling the European leg of his Saint Pablo tour, per TMZ. He had previously cancelled all of his North American tour dates.
Los Angeles police responded to a medical welfare call at about 1:20 p.m. on Nov. 21, and West was hospitalized for his own health and safety. The breakdown was the culmination of a string of bizarre behavior from West in the days leading up to his hospitalization.
West stopped several concerts cold in order to rant about Donald Trump, Beyoncé and Jay Z. Shortly thereafter, it was announced that the remaining dates of his tour had been canceled after a disastrous Sacramento show.
West was more than an hour late for that show, performed only a few songs, then went on a profanity-laced tirade about Beyoncé, Jay Z, Taylor Swift, Drake and Hillary Clinton before dropping the mic and walking off stage.

See How White House staff pranked President Obama with snowmen

In a recent interview President Barack Obama revealed an irrational fear of snowmen.
"There's a whole kind of Chucky element to them. They're a little creepy," he told People Magazine.
When First Lady Michelle joked about putting one in their bedroom Mr Obama said he would move out if he saw one there.
But that didn't stop White House staff having a go at scaring him.
Official White House photographer Pete Souza explained the prank on his Instagram page.
"For the past three weeks, there have been four snowmen on display in the Rose Garden.
"We've been joking that we should move the snowmen a few feet closer to the Oval Office every day to see if anyone noticed.  "Then we realised the snowmen were too heavy to easily lift.
"But finally this morning before the president came to the office, some helpful staff - I won't say who - moved all the snowmen so each one was peeking through a different window into the Oval."

'Plastic rice' seized in Nigeria

Nigeria has confiscated 2.5 tonnes of "plastic rice" smuggled into the country by unscrupulous businessmen, the customs service says.
Lagos customs chief Haruna Mamudu said the fake rice was intended to be sold in markets during the festive season.
He said the rice was very sticky after it was boiled and "only God knows what would have happened" if people ate it.
It is not clear where the seized sacks came from but rice made from plastic pellets was found in China last year.
Rice is the most popular staple food in Nigeria.
The BBC's Peter Okwoche says it is the only foodstuff that crosses cultural and ethnic lines across the country.
No ordinary rice: Martin Patience, BBC News, Lagos
Whoever made this fake rice did an exceptionally good job - on first impression it would have fooled me. When I ran the grains through my fingers nothing felt out of the ordinary.
But when I smelt a handful of the "rice" there was a faint chemical odour. Customs officials…

Defiant Gambian president refuses to step aside

Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has reiterated he won't step down despite losing the December 1 election, as West African leaders and Western powers urged him to hand over power peacefully.
Jammeh initially conceded defeat on state television after 22 years in power, but a week later reversed his position, denouncing the election results and demanding a new vote.
Last week, Gambian troops took over the Independent Electoral Commission office in the capital, Banjur, and instructed its chairman to leave while barring other employees from entering.
Jammeh's pledge to stay was broadcast on state television on Tuesday and indicated a hardening of the veteran president's position. It came a day after president-elect Adama Barrow said he was ready to take office on January 18 - the day Jammeh's mandate ends.
Jammeh also condemned West Africa's regional bloc ECOWAS for what he termed "meddling" in The Gambia's affairs.
The political crisis in The Gambia will be…

Fifa proposes two-year ban for Nigeria's Amos Adamu

Nigerian administrator Amos Adamu is facing another ban from all football-related activities by Fifa.
The investigatory chamber at the world governing body's ethics committee has been looking into alleged breaches of its code of ethics since March 2015.
It has now recommended a two-year ban and a fine for Adamu, a former Fifa executive committee member who was banned for three years in 2010.
A final decision on his punishment may several take months to be determined.
A Fifa statement says Adamu, who was also once on the Confederation of African Football board, violated three articles - covering general rules of conduct, loyalty and conflict of interest - of its Code of Ethics.
"For reasons linked to privacy rights and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, the adjudicatory chamber will not publish further details at the present time," the statement reads.
The 62-year-old was a member of Fifa's executive committee for four years until 2010, when he was…
