Ivanka Trump, children harassed on JetBlue flight: report

Ivanka Trump and her three children were reportedly on the receiving end of a barrage of insults from a fellow passenger on a Thursday flight out of New York.
An "out-of-control passenger" was "verbally berating" the 35-year-old daughter of President-elect Donald Trump and "jeering" at her children, according to TMZ.
"Your father is ruining the country," the JetBlue passenger said to Trump, the entertainment news site reports.
"Why is she on our flight? She should be riding private," the man, who was apparently holding his own kid in his arms, then exclaimed.
Another passenger on the flight out of John F. Kennedy International Airport told the site that Trump "ignored the guy and tried distracting her kids with crayons" before the man was escorted off the flight. As he was removed, the man reportedly yelled, "You're kicking me off for expressing my opinion?"
A man, identified by TMZ as the husband of the pa…

74 Judges have no accommodation - Chief Justice

The Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood, says that 74 superior court judges currently do not have official accommodation.
She stated that out of the total of 143 superior court judges, only 69 have official accommodation.
The Chief Justice explained that the introduction of judicial reforms and the need to implement various interventions aimed at improving justice delivery, among others, have necessitated the appointment of more judges and magistrates.
Speaking at the commissioning of two newly constructed five-storey block executive flats for high court judges in Accra yesterday, Mrs. Wood noted that the engagement of more judges by the Judicial Service has invariably resulted in the increase in the number of judges who require accommodation from the State.
To address this challenge, the Chief Justice stated that the Service in 2010 embarked on a project to convert some of the old bungalows into modern residential facilities for the judges.
“As part of this project, six two-sto…

Ms. Conway, who took over as campaign manager shortly after Mr. Trump clinched the Republican nomination over the summer, guided her candidate through a brutal and divisive campaign, often appearing on television to vouch for him during periods of scandal or controversy.
She stood by Mr. Trump after a 2005 video surfaced in which he spoke in vulgar terms about groping women, proving her loyalty and helping to secure her position as someone who will have the president’s ear on a wide variety of topics.
Ms. Conway has been a favorite strategist for conservative candidates, such as Newt Gingrich in the 2012 presidential race, and she was an adviser to Vice President-elect Mike Pence in his run for governor …

Celine Dion Says Non! to Performing at Trump Inauguration

The Mark Burnett-led team planning Donald Trump's inauguration events tried but failed to book Celine Dion, TheWrap has learned.
An individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap that longtime Trump friend and Las Vegas hotelier Steve Wynn had promised to deliver the French Canadian hitmaker for the January 20 festivities, but could not do so.

Neither Dion nor Wynn immediately responded to TheWrap's request for comment.

This isn't the first time Wynn couldn't deliver on his promises to the president-elect's inauguration team.
A Hollywood insider, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told TheWrap that Wynn had also tried to wrangle country star Garth Brooks for the events in Washington, D.C.
But another individual close to the situation said that the singer declined the offer even though he had signed a reported multimillion-dollar deal in 2009 for a four-year residency at one of Wynn's Las Vegas properties.
As TheWrap first reported, Trump'…

A man from Tennessee, Lawrence McKinney, who was wrongly imprisoned for 31 years for a crime he didn't commit has asked for a $1m compensation to restart his life after he was handed $75 by the Tennessee Department of Corrections.

In October 1977, a woman was raped by two strangers and upon questioning by police, identified one of her alleged rapist as her neighbor, Lawrence-  he was then convicted on rape and burglary charges in 1978 and sentenced to 115 years in jail at the young age of 22. In 2008, DNA evidence cleared Lawrence of any crimes and he was now released from prison the following year, but was sadly given $75 to start his life from scratch.
Lawrence, now 61, is asking the governor of Tennessee, Bill Haslam to exonerate him, which will pave the way for him to receive up to $1m from the government to start up his life. But according to CNN, the Tennessee Board of Parole in September denied Lawrence's request for exoneration.

Judge orders Prince divorce file unsealed; ex-wife objected

A judge has ordered Prince's divorce file opened next month over the objections of ex-wife Manuela Testolini.
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune ( ), Wednesday's order says the records from Prince's 2006 divorce will be made public Jan. 13. The judge denied Testolini's request to stay his order pending appeal.
The newspaper wants records from the couple's divorce released publicly. Testolini's attorneys objected, saying the records are tied to a private settlement.
Hennepin County Family Court Judge Thomas Fraser issued an order in August unsealing the divorce records. The documents' release was delayed because of objections from Testolini; Prince's half brother, Omarr Baker; and Bremer Trust, the company overseeing Prince's estate.

Prince's marriage to Testolini was his second. He died on April 21 from an accidental overdose of fentanyl.

Beyonce's Lemonade is critics' top album of 2016

Beyonce's politically charged visual album Lemonade is the music critics' favourite album of the year.
The record, which tackles themes of black empowerment and female identity, topped a "poll of polls" compiled by the BBC.
It beat David Bowie's elegiac swansong Blackstar, which was released two days before his death in January.
Third place went to Frank Ocean's Blonde, a sprawling, impressionistic take on art-soul.
Beyonce's sister Solange also fared well. A Seat At The Table, her soulful, thoughtful portrayal of the struggles faced by black women, both historically and in 2016, came fifth.

The Impact Crew: An Open Letter To MzGee of Hitz FM

An American poet and prose writer by name Harry Hibbard Kemp defined a poor (broke person) as a person who is not without money but rather without a dream in life. However, Hitz FM presenter Gloria Akpe Nyarku popularly known as MzGee thinks otherwise of this sensitive issue.
Now, the cliché that everybody is entitled to his or her opinion does not mean that, as a rational human being, you can say anything that comes into your mind. Social media for the past days has been buzzing with news about MzGee concerning her stance on her ideal type of man to marry when she was asked in an interview about why upon all the fame, she still remain single. According to her, ‘If you are a broke (poor guy), you dare not come near her with a marriage proposal!’ Meaning, she is still single because all the guys who have approached her basically for marriage proposals were mostly broke or poor per her estimation. Thus, her definition of an ideal man has been reduced to material possessions …

Trump appoints 'Death by China' author as head of US trade council

US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed economist Peter Navarro, an outspoken critic of China, as the head of a new national trade body.
Mr Navarro will lead the new White House National Trade Council and serve as director of trade and industrial policy.
The academic was an adviser to Mr Trump during the election campaign.
His books include The Coming China Wars and Death by China, in which he is deeply critical of Chinese policy.
During the election, the president-elect made trade issues a core campaign issue, criticising some deals made with countries like China and Mexico.
Mr Trump has already angered China by speaking with the Taiwanese president by phone, in violation of the US's decades-long "one China" policy.
He has also openly criticised China in outbursts on Twitter, recently accusing them of devaluing their currency to impede US competition, among other claims.
The presidential transition team said the appointment of Mr Navarro "demonstrates the pr…

Gbese Kingmakers direct Nii Ayi Bonte to step down in 7-days or...

He vowed to willingly step down if the incumbent president John Mahama loses the election.
So confident was Nii Ayi Bonte Chief of Gbese Traditional Area that the president was going to retain power that he put his own power on the line for the president.
But the incumbent suffered a shattering defeat in the hands of the opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo and pressure is mounting on the Ga chief to honour his promise.
He has been quiet after defeat, holding on to his seat, praying that the people to whom he made the promise will forget about his promise to abdicate the seat.
Nii Ayi Bonte was part of the delegation of chiefs who met the president-elect Nana Akufo-Addo during a meeting with the Ga Traditional Council.
Efforts by the media to get him to speak on the day of the meeting failed. With his golden crown firmly placed on his head, the chief chose an obscure place to sit at the back.
More than two weeks after Nana Akufo-Addo was elected, Nii Ayi Bonte is yet to honour his p…

Justin Bieber indicted in Argentina assault case

Justin Bieber has been indicted in a years-old assault and theft case in Argentina. The superstar will be arrested should he enter the country.
As Gossip Cop has reported, the issue dates back to 2013, when the singer was touring in Buenos Aires.

He was accused of instructing his security guards to beat up a paparazzo, and then steal his money and camera. In 2014, Bieber was ordered to return to Argentina to testify. When he never did, an arrest warrant was issued in 2015.

The warrant was subsequently canceled, even though the case was still ongoing. Now, three years after this saga began, Bieber has been indicted for robbery causing minor injuries. If he travels to Argentina, he will be subject to arrest.
But the singer, of course, doesn’t have any intentions of going there. In fact, Bieber tweeted an apology to Argentinian fans back in May, explaining that he couldn’t risk stepping foot in the country. That said, he placed the blame entirely on the government.
“Argentinian be…

Yaya Toure says he is open to signing a new contract with Manchester City

It all marks a remarkable turn around for a player who found himself frozen out of the team earlier in the season following a public falling out between his coach, Pep Guardiola and agent, Dmitri Seluk. All parties involved patched things up and the Ivorian was restored to the first team.  His return has coincided with a nice run of form for City who have won every of the five matches he has started. With things going so well, the player says he is willing to commit his future to the club after his contract runs out at the end of the season.

He said:  'When I signed for City, I came to this club to make history.' 'I want this club to be bigger than Manchester United. I know it's going to be a lot of work, but that's my dream. 'I want to make something very important. I already won two Premier League titles and I want more than that, another new story. 'I have been lucky to play at big clubs – Barcelona and Olympiakos.  Those teams were always used to b…
