GES Lauds Vodafone’s Annual Girls’ Camp Initiative

 The Ghana Education Service has expressed recognition to Vodafone Ghana Foundation and British Council for its annual mentorship camp programme aimed at encouraging juvenile girls nationwide to pursue their career goals to the enormously depth.

Speaking concerning how the three-morning mentorship programme will sponsorship concern the career of the privileged 300 girls, Director of Girls Education Unit at the Ghana Education Service (GES), Catherine Nutsugah Mikado said:

The Girls Camp will trigger and sponsorship these 300 brilliant girls to pursue complex education, reducing student dropout rates in deprived communities especially, and press on girl child involvement in formal education and career touch to the front.

The District Director says the second annual camp meeting has paved showing off for girls to be empowered around topics gone career opportunities, self-assessment, truthful attitudes to learning, personal hygiene, networking, surrounded by others; extra that the girls should recognize their studies seriously.

Commenting upon the programme, Head of Vodafone Ghana Foundation, Ebenezer Amankwah said:

The camp meeting held at Labone Senior High School brought together resource persons from Ashesi University, Ghana Education Service (GES), Vodafone Ghana, as ably as board members of the Vodafone Ghana Foundation, including Mr. Ken Ashigbey.

Vodafone Ghana Foundations Scholars initiative is a three-year scholarship scheme aimed at offering financial money to smart but financially-challenged females at the Senior High School (SHS) and University levels in Ghana.

Since 2015, Vodafone has, in collaboration considering the British Council, enrolled 300 sting but financially-challenged girls in future than 80 senior tall schools across Ghana. The scholarship package includes full tuition, administration fees, texts books, exercise books and some stipend for the beneficiaries.
