Majority of the youth today are going through a tough situation whereby the elders/parents want to decide all for them in life. Many have been through such and couldn't do anything about it therefore they accepted the decision was made just as it is. 

 

Many are not happy at where they are, what they are into and many more. This issue or situation is highly experienced in Africa. It all starts when a young boy or girl is about to enter into the SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. Whereby he or she wants to read General Arts but his parents or guardian insist he or she offers General Science which they normally speak out of experience and their comfort zones based on what they are seeing or let say one of the parents is a doctor therefore he or she sees the need for the ward to read or offer a program which at the end of the day sometimes ends up in something the ward never thought off. 

 

This issue is really taking place whereby solution to it is very difficult to come by just because the person who is deciding for you is taking care of you. Some students are able to do something about it. Now let us think about those who absolutely have no choice. Should they continue to persuade something they lack interest in? The part which hurts most is when you are about entering the university. 

 

Many parents decide for their wards based on someone doing best and ending well due to the program he or she read in the university. Therefore; they begin to think and have the feel that then my daughter or son need to read the same program in order to end up just as the way the person they are doing comparison with. Without considering the capabilities, potential and the difference between their ward and that other person. How can someone who cannot stand blood be pushed to go and read a science program at the university and end up becoming a medical personnel? The question is, will the person find joy in what he or she is doing? This is the case whereby they are the people caring for you. Someone told me his issue just as what I am addressing.

 

He said " he offered General science in his S.H.S level and have all it takes to read a science program at the university which it has always been his desire to end up as medical personnel but his family insist he goes to the police and end up in the future as police officer but his biggest dream is to become a doctor. The possibility of not finding happiness in being a Police is high. In the case like this, I want to ask how should the person deal with this issue? This phases of issues and challenges is going on in our African society which sometimes is unbearable. Some were born in the morning, some were born in the afternoon while others were born in the evening all within the same day but different time. 

 

That is how timing is like. Why can't parents notice the difference of various individuals and find out about their dreams and aspirations and help in achieving them. Instead throwing them away all because of someone's making. Some people were privileged to achieve their dreams and aspirations but others are still in the dark thinking about how to make theirs come to pass. All because the person catering for you is not noticing your potentials and capabilities, your dreams and aspirations. With the due respect, I will entreat our African parents to build that relationship with their wards in order to identify their potentials and capabilities for them so they don't throw their wards into something they cannot contain because PASSION FOR SOMETHING OR TO DO SOMETHING when IGNORED can cause the breakage of one's destiny. 

 

Also to someone who has found him or herself wanting in an issue like this I want to inspire you not give up on your dreams and aspirations just because of one's decision. Battle for what you desire doing. You can only do this if you become submissive in prayers because that is the only key to SUCCESS. Don't accept what you will not find happiness in no matter the circumstances. Consider the fact that it is your life and any decision you take today or accept today affects your life forever!! And also, don't use it as a medium to disrespect your parents. 

 

Keep consuming prayer to the above since issues like this human knowledge cannot solve but the Bible says, and I quote: "the heart of the king is in my hands and I turn it around to wherever I want.”

 

 I want to motivate you to keep on keeping on in prayer and one day the heart will turn into your direction. Although it will take time. Know it doesn't take a day to put up or build a house but when you work hard to produce the needed materials. It will take some few days. 

 

Stand firm and don't accept decision that can take your happiness away from you forever instead battle in prayer until you win the battle in reality.
