Blame me for NDC’s defeat- Mahama

Former President John Mahama has asked critics within his party to directly hold him responsible for the loss of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 general elections.

In a meeting with his former appointees on March 28, the former leader said: “The cause of our loss is multifaceted…Of course, as the General who led us into battle, I take ultimate responsibility for our losing the election, and so if it will satisfy those people, blame me for the loss.

“We must continue to defend that legacy of that government..let’s use this opportunity to learn from our mistakes in 2016 and make sure we don’t make those same mistakes again”.

Mr. Mahama further added the need to rally together as quickly as possible to go into the 2020 elections stronger than before.
