What
comes into you mind when you hear the word, expectations? Have you got
expectations? Have you witnessed some of your expectations come to pass?
Are expectations something you can rely on?
Before this question gets
an answer for them, let us get the definition of expectations from
google search. It is defined as a strong belief that something will
happen OR a belief that, someone will or should achieve something.
In
each definition, the word that is used is "belief"; which is defined as
an acceptance that something exist or is true especially without a
proof. The word I want to highlight here is "without a proof. Now, let
us answer the questions. The moment expectations come in mind, you
picture something you are yearning for. Definitely you have got
expectations. One or two expectations of yours might have come to pass.
Expectations can be relied on. but at the same time, cannot be rely on.
Many have lived by expectations without adding one ingredient to it and
has faced disappointments. You cannot tell on expectations because it
can keep you down when you do not achieve what you wished to achieve.
Sometimes, expectations hurts when it is not achieved, therefore you
should not expects too much in life. Instead, I will urge you fight for
whatever you want. You cannot be dependent on something which is without
proof even though, it is accepted. Life is not simple where you wish
for things and they show up as you see in cartoons.
How
is the feeling like when you are expecting that friend to buy you
something on her way to your house but came up empty or you gave money
to someone to get you something in the market on her way going there and
she comes back to tell you, I forgot. Just take a flash back and
notice the part where you expected something but could not achieve it.
Oh! you expected to get all the A's in your exams but your expectations
beat you up.
Are expectations something you can really rely on? It has
made some lost the heart to love, trust and believe. Someone somewhere
right now has lost confidence with his/herself because of an expectation
that was not achieved. In fact, expectations can make one shattered for
a long period or better still, a short period because you simply did
not or did expect that. On a second thought, you can rely on
expectations.
That is when you will add the one ingredient I mentioned
earlier which is "FAITH". Listen, expectations are accepted without
proof but with faith, it is accepted with proof, focus and confidence.
Let me give a scenario here, The woman who had 12years bleeding in the
Bible expected to touch JESUS and achieve her healing. She did not
believe on by expectation but added faith which boosted her confidence
level. You think you can expect with your human knowledge and achieve
it?
Whenever you notice, someone is confident with his/herself that
she will achieve what the desire is for. Ask the person about the secret
behind it. It is simply by faith which is due to prayer. He has made a
prayer and believed by faith that he will achieve it. Faith is
guaranteed with a proof about what you have accepted. Hence, live by
expectations but do not forget to add faith to it. Because expectations
is just a feeling, a belief that something should happen and you might
not even be so sure if it will happen.
Elijah made a prayer that it
should not rain for some days. Notice, He made a prayer and after the
prayer, He expected rain. He lived to witness his expectations
happening. Now, you see the proof.
You cannot expect without faith
because your expectations would be aimless with no proof.
Remember,
Faith is laying hold of the unseen realm of hope or expectation and
bringing it into reality. You can live by expectations only if you will
add faith.
Faith is the manifestation of future
expectancy into the realities of the present. Faith tells me that my
expectations can be fulfilled now. Faith is guaranteed to achieving an
expectation.
Rely on your expectations with faith
