Five state vehicles retrieved by task-force

The assets retrieval task-force on Wednesday morning picked five vehicles said to belong to the state at Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

The vehicles include two Toyota Landcruisers, two BMW saloon cars and a Mitsubishi Pajero.

The vehicles were parked on a private property belonging to one William Baah, an auctioneer.

According to the assets retrieval officer who led the task-force, Akwasi Abrebrese, the vehicles were retrieved upon a tip off.

“We got information that there is a government vehicle at Nsawam so we informed our boss and he said we should come. We’ve seen SPD (state protocol department) vehicles, land cruisers, many cars,” he said.

Mr Abrebrese said however that, Mr Baah, the owner of the property on which the vehicles were parked indicated that the cars were seized from court and that he was holding them in custody for the court.

He said Mr Baah however failed to name the court.
