Kendrick Lamar gets mocked for buying sister a Toyota Camry

Kendrick Lamar stayed humble by giving his sister a sensible car for her high school graduation — but some internet users gave him a hard time for not selecting a flashier model.

The hip-hop wordsmith presented a silver 2017 Toyota Camry to his younger sibling Kayla Duckworth in honor of her recent accomplishment, and she clearly appreciated the gift.

"Thank you big brother for my graduation gift!" she wrote in one of several Twitter posts about her new ride, each tagging Lamar.

The sedan comes with a modest pricetag — a tick over $23,000 in its simplest model. The rapper has a net worth of $18 million, according to CelebrityNetWorth.com.

His sister's excitement for the present didn't stop a few social media trolls from criticizing the "Humble" rapper for not springing for something more lavish.

"LMFAOOOOO Kendrick can't buy his sister a better car than a Toyota Camry," wrote one Twitter user.
Another added: "If I gotta buy a car for ma sis ima make it look sexy."

Many others, however, praised Lamar for giving his sister a safe and practical vehicle.

"Beautiful car for a beautiful lady, don't listen to anybody, you are blessed with an awesome brother, congratulations on your graduation," one Instagram user opined.

Another analyzed even further why a Camry was an excellent choice.

"Very sensible and I'm sure she has no car note plus she won't have to worry about putting premium gas I think it was a smart move for her as well as himself," the Instagram user wrote. "All those thinking he should have spent big bucks. That is why there are so many broke celebs. It is best to be sensible and invest your money let it mature. Kudos Kendrick."

Lamar, 29, is one of the top artists of the year so far, thanks to his critically acclaimed album "Damn." His hit song "Humble" became the first No. 1 single of his career.
