Celebrate The Best Of African Entertainment And Culture with Africa’s Biggest Stars At AMAA 2017

Africa’s premier movie awards ceremony, African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) is poised to host the continent’s best films and most prominent faces on and off the screen in an award showcase expected to be its biggest yet.

In its 13th edition, a-list actress Nse Ikpe-Etim plays host to numerous dignitaries and guests from all “walks of film” across the continent including David Oyelowo, Lupita Nyong’o, Bimbo Akintola, Richard Mofe Damijo, Amine Ennaji, Dann Jaques Mouton, Ramsey Nouah, Rita Dominic, Jahwar Soudani, Majid Michel, Vero Tshanda and Lydia Forson. Other notable figures include Sambassa Nzeribe, Ibrahim Koma, Josette Bushell-Mingo, Khabonina Quebeka and Zimkhitha Nyoka.

The body of nominated works and individuals transverses over 13 countries across the African continent and several others in diaspora. Films up for awards on the night include blockbusters such as The Last Of Us, A Mile in My Shoes, 76, Vaya, 93 Days, Queen of Katwe, Félicité, Wulu, Call Me Thief among several others.

The nominations announcement which was held on the 13th of May 2017, at the Kigali Convention Centre, Rwanda will be followed by the Grand Award Ceremony on Saturday, 15th of July 2017, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
