There
was a part in the journey where the cars overtaking us had to abort and
come back to their original lane, just because other cars were
approaching on their rightful lane. Therefore, in order to prevent
accidents from occurring, they had to give up by coming back to the lane
they were in. That’s when I got to know that in this journey called
life, there are times, you need to relax for a while if the effort you
are making can cause damage to yourself and the people around.
Relaxing
is part of the journey. It can never be as smooth as how you imagined
it. You can overtake but you got to be mindful of who you are overtaking
and the time you are doing the overtaking. Ask yourself; “Is it the
right time for me to make that decision”? If the journey insists you
should relax and continue it, just obey the journey.
The
traffic lights also played a role in the life I saw in the journey we
were approaching. I realized that, we can get to a traffic jam where we
meet other cars who are already waiting for the light to turn green for
them to move on. But the moment we got there the light turns green,
meaning we didn't spend our time waiting like other cars did. You see,
at times in life, you can apply for an institution, a project or
whatsoever and before you applied there would be many others who have
already applied but within that short possible time you applied, you got
picked up without waiting as others have. It does happen.
Someone
reading this piece will testify. It might have not happened to you
severally but you might have experienced it once in your life. And we
got to a point we had to wait for the light to turn from red to green
and we had others taking off with us the moment it turns green and
didn't also wait as we did. This is also part of life. Sometimes you
also have to wait and in your last minute of taking off, you will get
someone benefiting without waiting.
We also got
caught up in a traffic jam, which symbolizes that in life at the waiting
stage, something needs to happen to cause you to wait. You sometimes
need to fail in order to get up and be on the right path, or in order to
cause the rightful doors of opportunities to open unto you.
My
driver at a point asked for a direction to a particular location
because he wanted to be sure of the root he was taking. In life,
sometimes you need to stop by and ask for assistance. Just as the one
established a foundation will seek for help and assistance, so is life.
The
last thing to talk about in my road journey which I have related it to
life is that my driver missed the rightful path he was supposed to take
to our new destination. I noticed he wasn't bothered or distracted.
Instead, he quickly discovered another path that got us to our rightful
location. He made something meaningful out of his mistake. There are
going to be times in life which you will engage yourself in certain acts
and follow some path which you aren't supposed to use yet. In all, see
to it that you will discover yourself out of them. See the good side in
every bad situation. Whatever that happened on the way within my journey
adds to our every life. Be conscious of these words in my piece.
"Life is not a race but you need to be swift. Your time is limited" (Annie Joy)
“Be
a bush if you can't be a tree. If you can't be a highway, just be a
trail. If you can't be a sun, be a star. For it isn't by size that you
win or fail. Be the best of whatever you are.”
(Martin Luther)
