One dead, 4 injured in Odumase road accident in Eastern Region
At least one person has died in a fatal accident which occurred last
night in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern region.
The accident occurred along the Odumase-Otekpolu road, an area noted for accidents.
The driver of the Hyundai vehicle with registration number GW-6798 Y,
which had 5 passengers, mostly traders on board, reportedly failed
break while descending and negotiating the sharp curve and run into a
ditch.
The traders were transporting foodstuff from neighboring villages to the urban center.
A male passenger died at the spot arrival while the others were
rescued from the mangled vehicle by a combined rescue team of Police and
Fire personnel from Kpong.
Emmanuel Tetteh, a member of the rescue team told Starr News, two of
the injured are in critical condition and therefore have been referred
to the Koforidua Regional Hospital.
The Odumase Police Command is advising motorist to be cautious when driving on the road particularly at night.
