Nominations open for 2017 Shine Awards Gh

SHINE AWARDS is an awards initiative put together by THIQLINE PRODUCTIONS AND EGO AFRICA inspired by the scripture Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven".

The idea behind the awards scheme is to recognize and encourage outstanding achievements by individuals, groups and organizations for their tremendous contributions to the success of Christian Entertainment in Ghana, in the areas of Television, Music, Radio, Print, Dance, Poetry, Fashion, Comedy and the like.

The maiden edition which is set for December 2017 will give the opportunity for the general public to nominate their favorites in the various industry categories between January 2015 and December 2016 for a final short listing process done by the selection board.

Their mission is to build body and partnership among industry leaders in order to address mutual career issues to promote public awareness of the Christian arts in our culture.

The general public will be made to nominate through a voting system, the outstanding talent in the various categories for a final nomination list by the selection board. The Selection Board is a group of key Christian Entertainment industry players who have been very much involved in the arts for years.

To be eligible for nomination, the talented individual must have worked tremendously and actively in the year prior to the entry. A hard copy of the nominee's profile, photographs and a few of his or her sample work is required with the entry form.

All entries will be screened for eligibility and nominees’ works must reflect the core values of each category. The winners within each category will be determined by a twofold voting system. The first is a larger percentage of the final score will be allocated to the “nomination academy,” made up of recognized members of the Christian fraternity who will individually vote for their preferred talent.

The second is the other remaining percentage allocated to the general public who will vote via SMS for their favorites. All the votes will go to an independent auditing firm who will determine the final winner.
