BasketMouth Leads Forces For ‘Night of 1024 & Music’ On December 26

The highly-revered Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth, who is well-known on the most popular comedy show in Ghana, ‘A Night of 1000 Laughs & Music’ series – is coming back to Ghana to headline the 24th edition of the well-attended event, ‘A Night of 1024 Laughs & Music.’

Basketmouth will be joined by other comedy stalwarts including the likes of Akpororo and Acapella, all from Nigeria.

In the last couple of editions, Ghana has been very well represented on the platform, and this time – Forster Romanus, Khemical and Jacinta are expected to maintain or elevate the level of performance by the Ghanaian contingent.

‘A Night of 1024 Laughs & Music’, produced by Charterhouse is on Boxing Day, December 26th at the Accra International Conference Center.

Bright Okpocha (born 14 September 1978), better known by his stage name, Basketmouth is a Nigerian comedian and actor. He has organized popular stand-up comedy concerts like Basketmouth Uncensored across the globe.

Basketmouth hosted a comedy challenge on Instagram, called the #TwoThingsChallenge which sparked an uproar from fans, after a young fan posted a video of him saying obscene things relating to sex, with a child in close view in the video.

Bright completed his primary and secondary school education in Apapa (Lagos, Nigeria) and then moved on to pursue a degree at the University of Benin where he studied sociology and anthropology with his brother Godwin.

In 2005 and 2006 Basketmouth won the National Comedy Award and the awards for Best Stand-up Comedian of the Year. On February 14, 2017 to mark Valentine’s Day, Bright had a sold out concert in the famous Wembley arena which made people consider him to be one of the greatest comedians to come out of Africa. Basketmouth appears in the Africa Magic show ‘My Flatmate’.
