Caf president Issa Hayatou referred to Egyptian prosecutors

Confederation of African Football president Issa Hayatou has been referred to Egyptian prosecutors for investigation over allegedly abusing his position.
At issue is a deal awarding the broadcast rights to several African football tournaments to a media company, Lagardere Sports.
According to the Egyptian Competition Authority, Hayatou is suspected of not opening up the tender to free and fair competition as required by Egyptian law.
Caf is based in Cairo so the authorities say it must follow their laws.
African football's governing body had no comment to make, while Hayatou could not be reached.
The 70-year-old is currently in Abjua, Nigeria ahead of Thursday's Caf annual awards.
Hayatou was elected as Caf president in 1998 and is serving his seventh term in office.
Lagardere is not the subject of the referral, but says the allegation is wholly unfounded.

Queen Elizabeth nearly shot by her guardsman as she strolled the palace grounds at 3a.m

Queen Elizabeth narrowly escaped being shot by one of her guardsmen after she was seen wandering the garden of what is believed to be Buckingham Palace at 3 a.m.

The queen who is known to walk around the palace whenever she can't sleep was taking one of such walks, dressed in a winter coat, when the guard came across the Queen and taking precaution, asked, “Who’s that?” It was only then that he realised it was the monarch.

He was reported to have exclaimed “Bloody hell, Your Majesty. I nearly shot you” to which the Queen replied, “That’s quite all right. Next time I’ll ring through beforehand so you don’t have to shoot me.”

In 2013, Prince Andrew had the same encounter in the same garden when he was confronted by a policeman who mistook him for an intruder in broad daylight.

The vigilance of the security guards is quite understandable considering how often intruders have scaled the fence and gotten into the palace in the past.

In August 2016, a 22-year-old man was arrested a…

Mahama full speech of State of the Nation Address (SONA)

Your Excellency the Vice President,
Right Honourable Speaker,
Your Ladyship the Chief Justice
Honourable Members of Parliament
Mr. Speaker,
Allow me to begin by wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Afihyiapa.
This hall that exists within these walls is a place where I have always felt at home. It was in this august house, as an MP for Bole-Bamboi, that I began my political career. Or, better said, it was when I first held public office. The residents of that community entrusted me with the privilege of representing their best interests in the national dialogue of policymaking and legislation.
It seems fitting that I should find myself here in this same house delivering my final public address which will, in effect, bring to a close my tenure as President.
I deliver this message on the State of the Nation in fulfilment of Article 67 of the 1992 constitution. It has been a rare honour and privilege for me to serve my country in the highest office as President. It has been a worthwhile …

It's a six-bedroom, 6,870-square-foot house which sold for $5.5 million in December.

It has a garden terrace on the second floor of the home that can be accessed via the master bedroom, gourmet chef's kitchen with table space, a library, sun-room, a garden that also has irrigation for it, as well as a two car garage. Interestingly, the house is just blocks away from that of Obamas, who are said to move into that area once they leave the White House.

Dear EDB Readers: My boyfriend cheated on me using Skype sex. Does it matter?

A woman in her 20s has discovered that her beloved partner has been having online sex with porn stars and don't know what to do. she needs your advice.
Here is her story:
My boyfriend and I have been together for three years, we rarely fight and have planned our future lives together. Recently I found out he has been having Skype sex with other women (I think only porn stars). Am I right to be upset about this? I confronted him and he said he considers it as porn, but I don’t, as it is an interaction with another woman who also sees him.
I also pointed out the double standards, as he wouldn’t be happy with this behaviour from me, which he accepted. He has apologised, promised to stop and I have forgiven him. But I am scared that he won’t stop. We are in our 20s and I’m worried this pattern of behaviour will end up with him cheating on me in the future. pls what should i do?

Test your intelligence! Lets go!!

The former Exxon chairman and chief executive chosen by Donald Trump for US secretary of state will receive $180m to cut financial ties with the firm.

The firm said it would cancel the two million shares Mr Tillerson was due to receive as part of its executive pay programme and put the equivalent cash into an independently managed trust.
Mr Tillerson left Exxon on 31 December.
The payout, which will only take place if Mr Tillerson is confirmed in the new role, is aimed at addressing concerns the former Exxon executive could favour the oil giant, or his own interests while in office.

Four Teens Held After 'Facebook Live' Torture Video Airs

Four teens were being held by Chicago police Wednesday after a shocking Facebook Live video showed what appeared to be the beating and torturing of a bound and gagged fellow teenager with mental health challenges while they yelled anti-white expletives.
Officials said they expect to file charges against the four 18-year-olds, two men and two women, within the next 24 hours.

Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson called the video a "brutal act" that was "broadcast for the entire world to see."

"It's sickening," Johnson said at a news conference Wednesday night. "It makes you wonder what would make individuals treat somebody like that. I've been a cop for 28 years and seen things that you shouldn't see in a lifetime, but it still amazes me that you see things that you shouldn't."

The video, first aired Tuesday and then put up on YouTube, showed four young people kicking, slapping and cutting a someone who is tied up on the floor i…
