Mariah Carey’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Vandalized

Mariah Carey’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star was vandalized on Sunday when someone drew a question mark next to the singer’s name.
The Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce reportedly called the Los Angeles Police Department shortly after learning of the star’s impairment. The plaque has since been fixed, but it cost the Hollywood Historic Trust $1,500 to erase the damage.
The culprit who defaced the star reportedly took credit for it on Instagram, but authorities are also looking at surveillance video to determine the suspect’s identity. The wrongdoer will be charged with felony vandalism if convicted of the crime.
Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for Carey for a comment, but we’ve yet to hear back.
Luckily for the singer, her star didn’t take nearly as much of a beating as the president elect’s did back in October. As Gossip Cop reported, Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was destroyed by a hammer and pickaxe by a man dressed as a city construction worker. The cul…

Casey Affleck, Sylvester Stallone Clashed Over Seating at the Golden Globes: Sources

Despite his three daughters sharing the title of Miss Golden Globes and having the role of introducing best picture, Sylvester Stallone was nowhere in sight during the show.
Now it appears that his absence was due to a seating issue at his assigned table, which included Manchester by the Sea star Casey Affleck, the film’s producer Matt Damon and its writer-director, Kenneth Lonergan.
According to multiple sources, things got testy after Stallone, 70, and his wife Jennifer Flavin walked up to their table during the show’s opening number to find only one available open seat.
One show source tells PEOPLE that no one, including Affleck, 41, and Damon, made an effort to accommodate the Stallones, who grew frustrated and seemingly embarrassed, and eventually retreated to the green room backstage. The couple would not return to the table and watched the show from backstage instead.
Another source close to the situation agrees there was “confusion” over the seating but insists there wa…

(@djvyrusky) Dj Vyrusky's #THROWBACKVERSEDAY; history told through a Master’s Ears

“We need a generation of African storytellers to ensure that our history isn’t buried now only to be displayed in a museum after a century.”- @Fantenyimapa

History, one of the greatest things a generation can leave for generations young and yet to be born is a vital part of human existence. It is the basis of who we are as a people and it can never be discarded or disregarded.

It is the everyday story that tells future people how  and where today’s people lived, the lives they led and the decisions that brought them to where they are. This history is usually told through a skewed eye or with a lot of bias.

However, every once in a while someone with a non-penchant ability for telling the truth without apologies pops up and lives the truth of their words. These individuals although rare, provide a crucial lifeline to who we are and provide a definition for the sort thoughts that set us apart from the next people.

In this class is DJ Vyrusky. With an ear that doesn’t just hear …

FIFA agrees to expand World Cup to 48 teams

FIFA has voted to expand the World Cup to 48 teams from its current 32, brushing aside concerns that the expansion would lower the overall standard of the tournament, and make it too big and unwieldy.
Soccer's governing body said on its Twitter feed that the FIFA Council, its decision-making panel, had voted unanimously in favor of the change which will be introduced at the 2026 tournament.
The new format will include a first round of 16 groups of three teams, FIFA said, with further details to be given later.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who replaced the disgraced Sepp Blatter in February, had made World Cup expansion one of his promises during his successful electoral campaign.
Infantino had initially suggested a 40-team tournament but then added another eight to that total in October.

FIFA's 211 member associations each hold one vote in the presidential election and 135 of them have never played at a World Cup, so expansion of the tournament was always likely to ap…

Marissa Mayer to resign from Yahoo board after sale

Marissa Mayer will step down from Yahoo's board of directors if its sale to Verizon goes through, according to a company filing on Monday.
The Yahoo CEO's pending resignation from the board is part of a broader restructuring. After completing the $4.8 billion sale of its core Internet assets to Verizon(VZ, Tech30), what remains of Yahoo(YHOO, Tech30) will effectively be converted into an investment company for its Alibaba(BABA, Tech30) holdings.
Fittingly, that company will be renamed Altaba, according to the filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Yahoo, wait sorry, we mean Altaba (this takes some getting used to), will then shrink its board to five directors. Yahoo cofounder David Filo and chairman Maynard Webb also intend to step down from the board.
Yahoo says in the filing that none of the board members are resigning "due to any disagreement with the Company" over "operations, policies or practices."
Mayer remains Yahoo's CEO…

We don't tip black people, note to Virginia waitress said

Customers at a restaurant in Virginia are rallying to support a black waitress who received a a racist note instead of a tip at the weekend.
Waitress Kelly Carter said a couple had written on the receipt: "Great service don't tip black people." Owner Tommy Tellez told BBC News the response has been "phenomenal".
People have been dropping by the restaurant to give Ms Carter cash, Mr Tellez said, and a YouCaring campaign has raised over $300 (£245) for her.
Her regular customers have been dropping by to give her hugs.
Tipping is customary in the US, where restaurant servers often earn less than the minimum wage, with tips supposed to make up the difference in pay.
The white couple who left the note appeared to be in their mid-20s, and left after spending $30.52 (£25) on food.
Ms Carter told local media that one of the diners had even complimented the breakfast she served them on Saturday.
She says that she would gladly serve the pair again, adding "one hatef…

Gambian information minister Sheriff Bojang has resigned to protest President Yahya Jammeh's refusal to accept defeat in last month's presidential election, reports say.

State television reported that Mr Bojang had been sacked.
The UN Security Council has called on President Jammeh to step down.
He initially accepted that opposition leader Adama Barrow won the election, but then reversed his decision, citing electoral "abnormalities".
"The Gambia has decided and we must accept and respect this decision," Mr Bojang said in his statement. He also spoke to Reuters by phone from neighbouring Senegal.
In October Sheriff Bojang made headlines when he announced The Gambia's intention to pull out of the International Criminal Court.

Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of President-elect Donald Trump and one of his closest confidants, will join the White House as a senior adviser to the president, Trump announced Monday, while a lawyer assisting the family said that Kushner's wife, Ivanka Trump, will not immediately take on a formal role.

In a statement, the transition office said Kushner would work closely with White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon to execute Trump’s agenda.
Trump relied heavily on Kushner's advice during the campaign, and his move to the White House was expected. But ethics experts have raised questions about whether Kushner's role in the new administration will run up against a federal anti-nepotism law and about how he will separate himsel…

Jamie Foxx was attacked by another restaurant patron at a popular Hollywood restaurant over the weekend and plenty of Tinseltown's biggest names were on hand to witness it.
TMZ is reporting that the actor was with friends at Catch, the newest see-and-be-seen spot, when a man approached his table to complain that the group was too loud. A witness told the website that the man wasn't too friendly during the table meeting either, saying, "You don't want to mess with me. I'm from New York."
A man at Jamie's table wasn't impressed, retorting with an expletive and telling the person that his hometown was Oakland.
After the short geography lesson, TMZ said there are varying accounts of what happened, but claimed that the man "lunged" at Jamie at actually made contact and even pulled him down to the table.
