Guinea-Bissau hold hosts Gabon in AFCON 2017 opener

Guinea-Bissau continued their fairy-tale run by holding Gabon to a 1-1 draw in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations opener at the Stade de l'Amitié in Libreville on Saturday.
The African minnows, playing in their first Afcon, scored a 91st minute equaliser through Juary Soares to claim a point in the Group A clash.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked to have secured all three points for the Panthers, but having switched off in the final 10 minutes of the clash the hosts were duly punished.
Like plenty of Nations Cup openers in years gone by, this particular clash also got off to a rather lethargic start with neither side showing real impetus nor rhythm in the early exchanges.

Kamiyah Mobley: 'Tears of joy' for stolen baby's family

The grandmother of a girl stolen more than 18 years ago as a newborn baby has described her "tears of joy" at discovering that she is alive and well.
Velma Aiken told the BBC it was a good feeling to know that Kamiyah Mobley was "all right and looking good".
Ms Mobley was abducted in July 1998 from a hospital in Jacksonville, in the US state of Florida.
DNA tests confirmed her identity. The woman she thought was her mother was charged with kidnapping. 
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Ms Mobley appeared in good health, a "normal 18-year-old woman".
The office said it had acted on 2,500 tips since the abduction and received one last year to @MissingKids that eventually broke the case.
It showed the original composite images released at the time of the kidnapping, along with a photograph of Gloria Williams, 51, who was arrested on Friday morning at her home in Walterboro, South Carolina, 200 miles (300km) from Jacksonville.

NPP executives impound YEA bicycles

Officials of the Youth Employment Authority, (YEA) in the Eastern region were concerning Friday evening blocked by the New Juaben South Constituency executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party from allegedly transporting some bicycles of the agency.
Some officials of the YEA reportedly led by the Regional Director, Mr Mohammed Pelpuo at in the region of 5pm were parking ten bicycles from the warehouse of the Authority into a Vehicle but constituency executives of the NPP upon a tip off, curt to the scene to ensnare and evaluate the officials upon where the bicycles were swine sent to.
The executives unconvinced approximately the explanations truthful by the YEA officials, seized the items and reported the combat to the New Juaben Municipal Police Command.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. told TMZ Sports he'll be in Washington D.C. for Donald Trump's inauguration.  
"Y'all going to see me in D.C.," the retired boxer said. "Y'all going to see me in D.C. looking good. I got my tux and everything ready. All black (tie) affair."  
Mayweather, who has been in the news recently for discussing a potential fight with MMA star Conor McGregor, met with Trump at Trump Tower in New York after his election victory in November.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's divorce finalized by judge

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's bitter divorce battle is finally over. A Los Angeles judge agreed to rubber stamp the couple's signed judgment Friday, meaning the sparring spouses should start the weekend single. 
According to Daily News, the judge also denied Depp's request for $100,000 in sanctions against Heard.
"I just see this as a lot of bickering back and forth," Judge Carl Moor said as lawyers on both sides accused the other of delay tactics.
He said there was no evidence the court should "punish" Heard.
"I don't think you've made a showing they've frustrated the law," Moor told Depp's lawyers.
Outside court, Heard's lawyers cheered the decision.
"It's wonderful," Pierce O'Donnell said. "Our number one objective was to get her divorced."
Heard's other lawyer Samantha Spector said she was "thrilled" and called Depp's request for sanctions "frivolous."

Journalist dies in horrific car crash at Kasoa

Editor of General Telegraph newspaper, Bismarck Bebely has died in a car calamity Friday at Kasoa.

The incident occurred to the lead of the Kasoa Divisional Police Headquarters minutes after the deceased was stopped by a police bureaucrat for a traffic offence.
Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, Chief officer Koku Alordey stated the disaster to Adom FMs Kofi Adjei.

He narrated Mr Bebely was heading to Accra from Berekum once he was stopped because of an issue surrounded by his vehicle registration details.
