Police probe £3.9m fraud at Ashimolowo church

The City of London police are investigating an alleged fraud involving a former Premier League footballer who lost £3.9m from one of Britain’s richest evangelical churches in a disastrous investment scheme.

The criminal investigation follows a Charity Commission report into “mismanagement” at Kingsway International Christian Centre, which invested £5m with the former Charlton Athletic player Richard Rufus.
Rufus was found by a civil court judge in 2015 to have operated a Ponzi-style scheme between 2007 and 2011, losing or spending £8m from several investors.

Rufus was a leading member of the KICC whose founder, visionary and senior pastor is Matthew Ashimolowo, a Nigerian evangelist who preaches a health and wealth gospel to a congregation of thousands at his Prayer Palace in Kent. The largely African and Caribbean churchgoers are urged to give regular tithes and the church collected £5.8m from them in 2015, according to the latest accounts.

In 2009 and 2010, the trustees a…

Pope Francis Asks Forgiveness From Victims Of Clergy Sex Abuse

Pope Francis is asking victims and their families for forgiveness for the “horrible sin” of clerical sexual abuse.
Francis’ statement comes in the form of a preface for I Forgive You, Father, a book written by Daniel Pittet, a survivor of clergy abuse.
In the preface, Francis writes that Pittet’s testimony is “necessary, treasured and courageous” and calls abuse by Catholic priests an “absolute monstrosity.”
“How can someone who devoted their life to lead children to God, end up instead to devour them in what I called ‘a diabolical sacrifice’ that destroys both the victim and the life of the Church?” says Francis, according to a translation that the Italian news website La Stampa posted Monday. “Some of the victims have been driven to suicide. These deaths weigh on my heart, on my conscience and that of the whole Church. To their families, I offer my feelings of love and pain and humbly, I ask forgiveness.”
The pope has met with victims and created a pontifical commission …

Annie~Joy writes: There Is No Fear In Being Wicked Any Longer. Be Inspired!!

The world is getting scarier each day. Some news and told stories makes on amazed and can go dumb for a couple of minutes. Some don't fear any longer even if it takes digging a dead body to gain wealth. Some don't fear if it takes sleeping with a mad person, in cemetery or slaughtering a human being to gain wealth.

Now there is no fear in being in a relationship with a married person.

There is no fear for a qualified doctor to sleep with a patient who went to the hospital for checkup. There is no fear if a man of God will have to go the fetish priest in order to gain popularity and do all sorts of miracles.

There is no fear and shy when a young lady dress to expose. All what you can hear when you give a comment is, it is normal.

There’s no fear in dating numerous ladies at a time. All what we hear is my serious girl and my side chicks. Even a 15years old girl who is in a relationship has started planning marriage with his boyfriend.

There is no fear if a lecture, a p…
