Trump to rescind transgender bathroom rules from Obama era

The Trump administration will revoke federal guidelines telling public schools to let transgender students use bathrooms and locker rooms matching their chosen gender identity, a government official said Wednesday.
The decision, not yet announced, would be a reversal of an Obama-era directive issued in May requiring public schools to grant bathroom access even if the student's chosen gender identity isn't the same as what's in the student's record. That guidance will be rescinded, though anti-bullying safeguards will not be affected by the change, a government official with direct knowledge of the Trump administration's plans told The Associated Press. The official was not authorized to speak publicly about the plans and did so on condition of anonymity.
Although the guidance carried no force of law, transgender rights advocates say it was necessary to protect students from discrimination. Opponents argued it was overreach.

Teens accused of plot to rob, kill girl found shot in ditch

Two teenage boys charged with shooting a 14-year-old girl in the back of the head and leaving her wounded in a ditch lured her to the spot in a small Utah town with a plan to rob and kill her, prosecutors said Tuesday.
The 16-year-old boys set up a meeting by promising to sell her a knife and originally planned to stab her with knives of their own, according to newly filed charging documents. After they arrived, one boy decided instead to use a gun he had brought and shot the girl, prosecutors said.
They took $55 from her purse, tossed her backpack in a trash bin and destroyed her cellphone and iPod, prosecutors wrote. The girl is in critical condition in a medically induced coma.
One teen told police that greed made them do it, investigators said.
The girl was reported missing Thursday evening when she didn't return home from school, and she was found early Friday in the dry canal in the town of Smithfield, about 90 miles north of Salt Lake City.

The 2017 inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame were announced Wednesday morning, with hip-hop icon Jay Z and one-man hit factory Max Martin leading a class that also includes Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Motown founder Berry Gordy, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and three members of Chicago.
With his induction, Jay Z becomes the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall. The 21-time Grammy winner "was in a space where, even though he's had more pop albums than anyone else, because he did it through rap," it took longer for traditional voters to consider him, said Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers, who announced the inductees on CBS This Morning. "It's massive. He has changed the way that we listen to music. He's changed the way that we have fun."

Lydia Forson (@lydiaforson) says Ghanaian men lack understanding of dating

Actress Lydia Forson has taken a swipe at Ghanaian men on their bad attitude of wanting to take every lady to warm their beds after their first date.

According to her, most Ghanaian men lack the understanding of dating; taking a woman out and spending on her is not enough reason to swoop her unto their beds.

The popular actress’ post read, “A lot of Ghanaian men have much to learn in the art of ‘wooing’ a woman”

“Most [of them] don’t know how to take a girl on a date, if they do it’s always “food” which automatically turns to love” she said.

Jamie Foxx 'target of racial slur' in Croatian restaurant

Police have filed disorderly conduct charges against two people alleged to have used a racial slur against actor Jamie Foxx at a restaurant in Croatia.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, Foxx claimed an offensive racial term was among vulgar language used by the men.
Police said they responded to reports of "particularly arrogant and rude" insults being made against diners.
They said one insult was made against "one of the guests on racial grounds" but did not name Foxx as the target.
The statement from the police said they were investigating whether to pursue other charges against the two men.
Foxx had been in Dubrovnik filming Robin Hood: Origins, in which he plays Little John.
Tim Minchin and Jamie Dornan also star in the film, which sees Taron Egerton take the lead role.
A day after the alleged racial slur, Foxx said on Instagram that he had his "mind blown" by the beauty of Dubrovnik.

Paris Hilton's Dress Literally Costs More Than A House

Paris Hilton does it all. She's the boss (and namesake) for about 19 different eponymous product lines, is mom to upwards of 35 dogs (whose names include Peter Pan, Mugsy, and Harajuku Bitch; RIP, Tinkerbell), and is still walking the runways of NYFW like she was in the early aughts. And so it'd go, then, that the mogul wear something that reflects her knack for doing a million things at once.
No, we're not talking about a pantsuit — though that'd be "hot," as she would put it — but with a "Million Dollar" dress, perhaps?
Hilton donned designer August Getty 's "Million Dollar" dress to accept her Fragrance of The Year award at the Hollywood Beauty Awards on Sunday night for her Gold Rush perfume. Previously, we've seen the dress on Gigi Gorgeous, who wore it to the premiere of her documentary This Is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous at Sundance. Not to burst your bubble or anything, but it's actually not worth a million buck…

Ghana ranked most expensive country to live in Africa – Survey

MoveHub, an international relocation company has rated Ghana as the most expensive country to live in on the African continent.
MoveHub based its assessment on a range of costs, such as the price of groceries, transport, bills, restaurants and rents.
These figures are then compiled into an index, using the notoriously expensive city of New York as a benchmark.
According to the report published by the website, Ghana is ranked among 20 other nations that are deemed expensive to reside in world over.
It said: “Ghana is one of Africa’s more prosperous nations, and this is reflected in the cost of living, which is higher than any other African nation”.
New York was given an index score of 100, and countries were then ranked based on this. So a country with a score higher than 100 is more expensive than New York, while below signals that it is cheaper.
Below is the list of the 21 most expensive countries in the world

Lifestyle: HR TODAY: Importance of leaving the office early

I genuinely believe that we all need to practice the art of leaving the office on time. Admittedly I did not expect the 3k’s worth of likes and 100’s of comments however I wanted to share why I genuinely believe that to achieve the high’s of both professional and personal life you absolutely need to pay attention and ‘leave the office on time’.
Over the last 10 years I’ve constantly heard the wonderful phrase of work life balance, ‘Work–life balance is a concept including proper prioritizing between “work” (career and ambition) and “lifestyle” (health, pleasure, leisure, family and spiritual development/meditation)’. So what does this really mean and why do I genuinely believe in leaving the office on time?
Work is a never ending process – It’s fact and we may as well get used to it, therefore stop focusing on 1 day or 1 week and start planning for a career. So harness the skills of time management and stop trying to get everything done in a day!

Donald Tsang: Hong Kong former leader sentenced to 20 months

Former Hong Kong leader Donald Tsang has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for misconduct.
Tsang led Hong Kong from 2005 to 2012 and is the most senior official in the territory ever to stand trial for corruption.
He was found guilty last week of misconduct in public office, in a case related to a luxury flat in China.
In sentencing, Judge Andrew Chan said: "Never in my judicial career have I seen a man fall from so high."
A number of senior former officials in Hong Kong had written letters to the court in defence of Tsang's character.
The judge said he took Tsang's reputation and long public service into account in sentencing, taking 10 months off what would have been a 30-month sentence. The maximum penalty could have been seven years.
Tsang was cleared last week of a second count of misconduct, while the jury failed to reach a verdict on a third charge of accepting an advantage. He is expected to be retried on that charge in September.

People believe that the prophet could have been on the line with someone with information on the church member, but he responded saying:

'It is possible to talk to God, why would you doubt that I got a call from him? I actually have a direct line which I can call him and get instructions on how to proceed. I got this when I was praying and I heard a voice telling me to call direct.

I got instructions on the phone on what to do or say and that is what happened on Sunday. If the heavens spoke to Abraham why not us? You are of faith and people will always have doubts while others are being deli…
