Photos from The Mixology Show at Sand Box Beach Club, South Labadi Estate.

The Mixology Show which was organized by The Cake Fair and The Ideal Dessertfest, Ghana’s upcoming event and entertainment companies VoicesAds and Yellow October Events was yesterday held at Sand Box Beach Club, South Labadi Estate.
The Mixology Show which was  involved the art and skill of preparing a variety of cocktails and spirits while nibbling on canopies. It’s was an event open to the public but solely for guests 18 years old and above. Guests were also “charmed” by live band performances and Ghana’s top notch DJs.
Official media partners were Starr FM, Live FM, Agoo TV with support by King Kwaku Ananse Photography, AfricaFeeds, BNFT, Cypress Ghana, 360GH and Ameyaw Debrah.

Big Brother Naija housemate Kemen disqualified over sexual harassment, sponsors issue statement

Big Brother Naija housemate, Ekemini Ekrette aka Kemen, has been disqualified and immediately removed from the house following a major house rule infringement. The decision was made after a video where Kemen was seen touching fellow housemate, Tboss’ body while she was asleep next to him, emerged.
Payporte, headline sponsor of the show, has issued a statement saying:
Hello Everyone, Based on last night’s footage of @Kemen_fitness making sexual moves on @officialtboss_ which sparked a large outrage, we will like to make our stance known on this matter.

Akufo-Addo commissions Castle as museum for Heads of state

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has commissioned the former seat of government, the Christianborg Castle, a museum for past presidents.
The Museum is one of the many “legacy projects” identified by government to mark the Ghana at 60 celebration.
The project when completed will transform the entire Castle into a Exhibition hall that will project all of Ghana’s statesmen, particularly Heads of State.
The Sunday ceremony included a tour of an exhibition of all former Heads of State.
The President in his address before the tour, called on Ghanaians to take full advantage and also tour the Museum and learn from the many historical details that will form part of the facility .
The President was hopeful that the Museum when completed, will offer job opportunities for the youth at  Osu and its environs.
Meanwhile, the remains of former president John Evans Atta Mills is buried at the frontal of the castle.

Full List Of Winners At 2017 Ghana Music Honours

It is a scheme which looks to “cultivate the understanding, appreciation and advancement of the contribution of recorded music to the Ghanaian society; from the artistic and technical legends of the past to the musical breakthroughs of future generations of music professionals”.

The Ghana Music Honours which precedes the one-week celebration of the annual Ghana Music Week (GMW) festival saw 20 awards presented in the various categories among which are Best Band Honour, Best DJ Honour, Afro Pop Artist Honour, Hiplife Artist Honour, Highlife Artist Honour, Reggae/Dancehall and Gospel Artist Honour.

The event organised by the Musicians Union of Ghana was held on Saturday at the National Theatre.

Adele confirms she is married to Simon Konecki

Adele has finally confirmed she has married Simon Konecki, after months of media speculation. The singer was on stage in Brisbane, Australia, talking about her track Someone Like You, when she said, "I'm married now".
There had been rumours the pair had wed and Adele had also referred to him as her husband at the Grammy awards.
Adele and Simon have one child together, a four-year-old son named Angelo. Video of Adele talking about being married has been shared on social media.
She was describing the moment she had played Someone Like You to close friends and family, when she referred to being married.
"I could see in their eyes as they were listening to it on their headphones that it reminded them of something or someone," she said.
"That's what I wanted to remember, how it was I felt at the beginning of the relationship that inspired that record.

Police Announces Closure Of Roads And Diversions For Independence Day Parade

The Police Service has announced that some roads will be closed as a result of Ghana’s 60th Independence Day Anniversary parade at the Black Stars Square on Monday, March 6, 2017.
Roads to be closed
The roads expected to be closed are :
28th February Road from the CEPS Headquarters to Castle Road Junction
Osu Cemetery Traffic Light on the Lokko Street
Castle Road from AU Circle to Osu Cemetery Traffic Light
Starlet 95 Road will be closed at the Ministries Traffic Light Intersection
Traffic Diversions
The following traffic diversions were also announced:
Traffic from the 28th February Road emanating from La, Labone, and Osu heading towards the Central Business District will be diverted unto the Salem Avenue at the Castle Traffic Light to link up with the Oxford Street.
Traffic from John Evans Atta Mills High Street towards Black Star Square shall be diverted unto the Liberia Road at the CEPS Headquarters traffic light towards the National Theatre Traffic Lights Intersection

Tommy Page, Singer and Former Billboard Publisher, Dies at 46

According to Billboard, Singer-songwriter and music industry executive Tommy Page, best known for his No. 1 single "I'll Be Your Everything," was found dead Friday (March 3) of an apparent suicide. He was 46.
Page started his career as a recording artist for Sire Records and topped the Billboard Hot 100 with his single, "I'll Be Your Everything" in April 1990. The song was written by Page, along with Jordan Knight and Danny Wood of Page's tourmates New Kids on the Block. The group's Donnie Wahlberg, along with Knight, also had a hand in producing the track.
Page later returned to NYU's Stern School of Business to pursue his career as a music executive. He recorded nine studio albums and continued to tour throughout his career.
"My whole life I dreamed of having a No. 1 record, ever since I could remember getting into music. I wanted to be on top of the Billboard charts," Page remembered in 2011.

Hunger and disease kill 110' in Somalia in 48 hours

Somalia's prime minister has announced the deaths of at least 110 people due to hunger and diarrhoea in the country over the past 48 hours amid a drought in the Bay region.
The announcement by Hassan Ali Khaire on Saturday followed the Somali government's warning last week that the drought amounts to a national disaster.
"It is a difficult situation for the pastoralists and their livestock. Some people have been hit by [hunger] and diarrhoea at the same time. In the last 48 hours 110 people died due to [hunger] and diarrhoea in Bay region," Khaire's office said in a statement. "The Somali government will do its best, and we urge all Somalis wherever they are to help and save the dying Somalis," said the statement, released after a meeting of a famine response committee.

Mostly children and elderly people died in villages surrounding the town of Baido, Abdullahi Omar Roble, the government's regional humanitarian chief, told the DPA news agency.

Marwako suspends abusive supervisor

Management of Mawarko Fast food says it has suspended its Abelenkpe branch supervisor Jihad Thaabn over the abuse he inflicted on a Ghanaian worker at the company.
The food company says it regrets the incident and will work with the Police to ensure that meaningful conclusion is arrived in the matter.
The suspended supervisor reportedly dipped the face of the Ghanaian worker in blended pepper  over claim that she delayed with her responsibilities.
Narrating her ordeal, the victim told the Daily Graphic that although she had been employed to work in the Rice Department, she was occasionally asked to help in other departments where more hands were needed, however, on Sunday, February 26, 2017, she was asked to help in the Full Chicken Department, where she was instructed to blend fresh pepper for the seasoning of the chicken.

Former Haitian President Rene Preval has died at the age of 74.

Rene was the first leader in Haiti's history to win a democratic election, serve a full term and peacefully hand power to a successor,, he died on Friday, February 3. 20017 after falling unconscious at his home. The cause of death for the two-time president was not made public. His sister, Marie-Claude Calvin, said an autopsy would determine the cause. 
Preval was a central figure in Haitian politics from the early nineties through to his second presidency.

His legacy will always be tied to the 2010 earthquake that destroyed much of the capital, Port-au-Prince, killing more than 200,000 people and bringing the presidential palace crumbling to the ground.Haiti has been politically turbulent for much of its history since winning independence from France in 1804.
