Man tries to smuggle 67 pounds of pot into the US in a coffin. But points for originality

An American man - a very bad hombre - was arrested over the weekend after trying to smuggle 67 pounds of pot across the Mexican border ... in a coffin in a hearse.

First, 67 pounds of marijuana is a LOT of pot. $33,000 worth. Enough to get Snoop stoned for at least a couple of weeks.  Second, a hearse? Points for originality and utility.  He had to assume that no one would ask questions if he was carrying a dead body to its final resting place.  Only there was no dead body in this casket - just bricks of marijuana alongside bricks of manure he assumed would hide the odor.  His efforts, while intriguing, weren't enough to keep the suspicious eyes of the border agents, who seized the marijuana and hearse during a immigration vehicle stop near Tombstone, Arizona, over the weekend.
Also - somewhat unrelated - unless your parents own a funeral home, how does one get their hands on a hearse? Is there a Craigslist tab for that?

Serie A: Muntari punished in racism probe

Sulley Ali Muntari has been suspended by the Disciplinary Commission for walking off during Cagliari-Pescara due to racist insults, but Inter and Lazio have suspended bans.
The incident caused huge controversy in Serie A and beyond, as the midfielder was booked by the referee for dissent.
The Ghana international then became angry and walked off the field, as the official refused to stop the game.
Not only has the Muntari yellow card not been rescinded, and therefore he is given a one-match ban, but also Cagliari have avoided any punishment for the racist chants.
This is because the officials at the ground wrote in their report that the racist chants were coming from only around 10 people, thus less than one per cent of the circa 2,000 in the stadium.
They also noted it was only audible because the rest of the supporters were staging a ‘silent protest’ and therefore the decision was made not to penalise Cagliari, not even with a warning or a fine.
However, racist chants were clearly heard …

Syria war: Many dead in IS attack on displaced people's camp

More than 30 civilians and Kurdish-led fighters have been killed in an attack by Islamic State (IS) militants near Syria's north-eastern border with Iraq.
They targeted a makeshift camp for displaced Syrians and Iraqi refugees at Rajm al-Salibi, near the town of Shaddadi in Hassakeh province.
The militants also clashed with members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) stationed at a nearby checkpoint.
IS said the attack was one of several targeting "apostates" around Shaddadi.
The jihadist group is coming under mounting pressure in northern Syria from the SDF's Kurdish and Arab fighters, who are supported by the US, and from pro-government forces in neighbouring Iraq.
The SDF has driven IS militants out of much of Hassakeh and is close to taking control of the strategically important Euphrates River Valley town of Tabqa.
It will soon launch an offensive to retake the city of Raqqa, the de facto capital of the "caliphate" proclaimed by IS after the fa…

Paparazzi on trial over topless photos of Duchess Kate

Three photographers have appeared in a French court over topless photographs of the Duchess of Cambridge, an invasion of privacy case that has outraged Britain's royal family.
The photos were published in a French gossip magazine in 2012, a year after Kate Middleton married Prince William. The couple didn't attend the trial outside Paris on Tuesday.
The pictures of Kate were taken during their summer vacation in France's southern Provence region.
The owner and executive editor of celebrity magazine Closer also are being tried along with the former publisher of a French regional newspaper that also ran the photos. None of the executives attended.
Neither the photographers nor lawyers for the defendants and the royal plaintiffs commented when they arrived for the trial.  A verdict is expected at a later date.

New Jersey Twin Sisters Give Birth to Baby Boys on the Same Day, Hours Apart

The first thing fraternal twins Danielle Grant and Kim Abraham want to make clear is that their original due dates (April 22) were the same day.
And that was a "total coincidence," Grant told the Asbury Park Press.

"We both wanted babies, but we didn't think we would get pregnant the same time," she told the newspaper.

"This was not planned."

But when that date came and went and they still hadn't given birth, the sisters decided to induce on the same day. On Friday, April 30, they both gave birth to bouncing baby boys.

Grant, who already has a 2-year-old daughter, gave birth to 8-pound, 12-ounce Roman at 11:42 a.m. Abraham, a first-time mom, delivered 9-pound, 12-ounce Aaron at 3:21 p.m.

It is an extremely unique situation, Olga Malpica Proctor, associate mathematics professor at Brookdale Community College, told the newspaper. She says he odds of twin sisters giving birth on the same day are about 8 in 100,000, which is roughly the same odds …

Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Why Kanye West Stayed Home and Skipped the Met Gala

Kim Kardashian West walked the red carpet solo at the 2017 Met Gala - but after being half of the event's undisputed power couple every year since 2013, everyone was asking, "Where's Kanye West?"
"He's at home," the reality star told Vogue's André Leon Talley. "He's been taking some time off and really loving that."
Kardashian West, 36, stepped out in a white off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood Couture slip dress featuring a corseted waist. But after dazzling on the red carpet, she was ready to meet up with her sisters also in attendance, Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
"Have you seen my sisters? That's the question - are they inside?" she asked. "We're all solo, so we were texting on the way here."
A source previously told PEOPLE that West, 39, would not be attending this year's Met Gala because he's not ready to return to the red carpet following his late 2016 breakdown and hospitalization.

France election: Le Pen accused of plagiarising Fillon

French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen has been accused of plagiarising defeated rival François Fillon in a speech she delivered on Monday.
Several sections of her speech in Villepinte, north of Paris, appear to repeat almost word-for-word comments Mr Fillon made in an address on 15 April.
An official of her National Front party said she had made a "nod" to Mr Fillon and it showed she was "not sectarian".
Ms Le Pen faces centrist Emmanuel Macron in the final round on Sunday.
The similarity in the speeches was pointed out by the Ridicule TV YouTube channel, initially set up by François Fillon's supporters to attack Mr Macron before the first round of voting that saw Mr Fillon eliminated from the contest.
Ridicule TV said the far right presidential candidate had plagiarised Mr Fillon's speech "word for word" and set the two speeches side by side, inviting viewers to make up their own minds.
The videos were also posted on Twitter.

Indian baby is born with additional head attached to its stomach

Having twin babies is always a thing of joy, but there are great risks associated with it, one of them being having conjoined twins or parasitic twins and that was the case of an unnamed 21-year-old woman who recently gave birth to a baby girl with an extra head sticking out of her stomach.

The mother had come to the Ram Snehi Hospital, in Jahazpur, complaining of pain during her pregnancy. She was instantly referred for a sonography scan and an ultrasound and they were told that she was carrying twins, but they did not discover that the other twin was parasitic, until after the birth.

Parasitic twins is a type of conjoined twins where one of the twins ceases development during gestation and becomes wholly dependent on some bodily functions of the complete foetus. The incompletely formed twin is the parasitic one because it is only partially formed and is not functional. Cases of parasitic twins are rare and believed to account for just one per one million live births, acc…

They have apologised and offered refunds to all the festival-goers.
'Hunger Games'
Attendee Daniel Jung, who has enlisted the services of celebrity trial lawyer Mark Geragos, is accusing the pair of "an outrageous failure to prepare".
"The festival's lack of adequate food, water, shelter, and medical care created a dangerous and panicked situation among attendees - suddenly finding themselves stranded on a remote island without basic provisions - that was closer to The Hunger Games or Lord of the Flies than Coachella," the court filing said.

Relationship: Living together before you’re married is a bad idea

I’ve been engaged for a little over a year now, and during this time, many people have asked me questions like, “When are you guys getting married again?” or “Where is the wedding going to be?” However, the question that surprises me most is when Christians ask, “Why don’t you and your fiancé move in together before you get married? You know, just to try it out.”
After all, how will we ever know if we are compatible, right? Not quite.
I see their logic behind this, but I just don’t see how this lines up with God’s principles and standard for relationships. Consequently, living under the same roof as my fiancé has the potential not only to damage our relationship with each other, but also our relationships with God.
The good news is that God provides us with clear biblical guidelines and principles to help us build healthy dating relationships.
Here are a few reasons why moving in with your girlfriend, boyfriend or even your fiancé has the potential to destroy your relationship:

Facebook denies targeting insecure users

Facebook has denied it is targeting insecure young people in order to push advertising, amid a row over a leaked document.
A research paper, reported on but not published by The Australian newspaper, was said to go into detail about how teenage users post about self-image, weight loss and other issues.
Facebook confirmed the research was shared with advertisers, but said the article was “misleading”.
"Facebook does not offer tools to target people based on their emotional state,” the network said.
"The analysis done by an Australian researcher was intended to help marketers understand how people express themselves on Facebook.
"It was never used to target ads and was based on data that was anonymous and aggregated.
"Facebook has an established process to review the research we perform. This research did not follow that process, and we are reviewing the details to correct the oversight."
