Mount Everest: Min Bahadur Sherchan dies attempting record

An 85-year-old Nepali man who was attempting to become the oldest person to climb Mount Everest has died at base camp, Nepali officials say.
Min Bahadur Sherchan, a former British Gurkha soldier, was trying to reclaim the record from Japan's Yuichiro Miura, who climbed Everest aged 80 in 2013.
Mr Miura broke Mr Sherchan's own record set as a 76-year-old in 2008.
It comes a week after Swiss climber Ueli Steck, 40, died as he prepared to climb the mountain.
Mr Sherchan died at base camp on Saturday afternoon, officials at Nepal's tourism office said. Doctors suspect he suffered a heart attack, the Kathmandu Post newspaper reported.
His long rivalry with Mr Miura - a year his junior - included a 2013 attempt to reclaim the record aged 81 that had to be abandoned after late spring weather conditions worsened.
In 2015 he was on his way to base camp for another attempt when a devastating earthquake struck the country, forcing him and many other climbers to abandon their plan…

Sulley Muntari has had the one-match ban he received after protesting against racist abuse overturned.

"I hope this is a turning point in Italy and shows what it means to stand up for your rights," said Muntari, 32.
"I feel that someone has finally listened to me. The last few days have been very hard for me. I have felt angry and isolated.
"I was being treated like a criminal. How could I be punished when I was the victim of racism?
"I hope my case can help so that other footballers do not suffer like me."
Muntari was initially booked for dissent, then received a second yellow card for leaving the field.
Serie A, although agreeing that the abuse Muntari received was "deplorable", originally said that it could not impose…

This Teen Wore The Same Dress Her Mom Wore To Prom 22 Years Ago

High school senior Ally Johnson honored her mom in a fashionable and nostalgic way by wearing her mother’s prom dress to her own prom, 22 years later.
Ally’s mom, Lori Johnson, wore a black dress embellished with silver glitter to her senior prom in 1995. On April 22, Ally wore the same dress to her senior prom as well. Ally told HuffPost the dress needed no alterations before the big night.
“It is very stretchy, which made it fit perfectly,” she said. “I was surprised because my mom had a very different build than I did when she was in high school.”
Lori had suggested her dress to her daughter for past proms, but Ally was never interested in the idea. That changed this year when she ordered a dress online and didn’t fall in love with it after trying it on at her grandmother’s house. She then asked her grandmother, who had been holding on to Lori’s dress, if she could find it for her.
“I dug the dress out and tried it on, and I loved it instantly,” Ally told HuffPost.

Bugri Naabu clashes with Otiko over school feeding appointment

The Northern Regional chairman  of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bugri Naabu Friday went berserk scuttling a meeting being  held by the Minister for  Gender, Children and Social Protection Otiko Afisa Djaba.
The chairman accompanied by a group of rowdy women affiliated to the NPP stormed the meeting vandalizing properties in protest to what he described as the Minister’s seeming disrespect to his authority as she did not seek his consent before holding her meeting.
Describing the meeting as “illegal”,  Naabu said the Gender Minister has no right to come to the region to organize a meeting without prior notice to the regional executives, observing that even the president would not do that.
“I have told the Minister point blank what she did was wrong. It is unconstitutional and therefore her meeting is illegal,” he declared to the admiration of the women accompanying him.
According to Starr News’ Northern regional correspondent Eliasu Tanko, incensed Mr. Naabu  persona…

Chrissy Teigen once got lipo on her armpit

Yes, Chrissy Teigen has had work done -- and not just in the areas that you would expect. The Sports Illustrated model told Refinery29 that she once got liposuction on her armpit.
"I had an armpit sucked out, which was one of the best things. It's a big secret, but I don't care," she said. "It was nine years ago or so. And I had two inches to my armpit. Now it's back though, so now I've gotta pay for [liposuction] again."
She's certainly not worried about repeating the procedure.
"It was so easy. It made me feel better in dresses; I felt more confident," she said. "It was the dumbest, stupidest thing I've ever done. The dumbest, but I like it, whatever. I have no regrets, honestly."

While Chrissy is one of more real celebrities out there from a personality standpoint, she joked that she's hardly real when it comes to her appearance.

"Everything about me is fake except my cheeks," she joked. Chrissy then…

France bans extremely thin models

A law in France banning the use of unhealthily thin fashion models has come into effect.
Models will need to provide a doctor's certificate attesting to their overall physical health, with special regard to their body mass index (BMI) - a measure of weight in relation to height.
The health ministry says the aim is to fight eating disorders and inaccessible ideals of beauty.
Digitally altered photos will also have to be labelled from 1 October.
Images where a model's appearance has been manipulated will need to be marked photographie retouchée (English: retouched photograph).
A previous version of the bill had suggested a minimum BMI for models, prompting protests from modelling agencies in France.
But the final version, backed by MPs 2015, allows doctors to decide whether a model is too thin by taking into account their weight, age, and body shape.
Employers breaking the law could face fines of up to 75,000 euros (£63,500; $82,000) and up to six months in jail.
