Wenger finally ends Mourinho hoodoo after Arsenal beat Man Utd in the Premier League

Goals from Granit Xhaka and Danny Welbeck secured a belated victory for the Frenchman to keep his team in the hunt for a top-four finish
After almost 13 years, Arsene Wenger finally got the better of Jose Mourinho in the Premier League after Arsenal beat Manchester United 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
Wenger had endured countless frustration in his previous battles with his Portuguese nemesis, but goals from Granit Xhaka and former United striker Danny Welbeck ended his hoodoo against Mourinho.
In 12 previous Premier League games against Mourinho the Arsenal boss had been unable to mastermind a victory, suffering five defeats and picking up seven draws.
The closest Wenger had previously come to beating Mourinho was in December 2006 when Michael Essien scored an 84th minute equaliser for Chelsea in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho also inflicted a 6-0 mauling on Wenger during his second spell as Chelsea manager in March 2014 before he took over as United boss in the summer…

Breaking: Centrist Emmanuel Macron 39, becomes France's youngest president

Pro-EU centrist Emmanuel Macron has won the French presidency with a decisive victory over the Far-RightMarine Le Pen that his supporters hailed as holding back the tide of populism.
Macron, 39, a former economy minister who ran as a “neither left nor right” independent promising to shake up the French political system, took 65.1% to Le Pen’s 34.9%, according to initial projections from early counts.
Le Pen’s score nonetheless marked a historic high for the French far right. Despite a lacklustre campaign that ended with a calamitous performance in the final TV debate, she was projected to have taken more than 10 million votes, roughly double that of her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, when he reached the presidential run-off in 2002. The anti-immigration, anti-EU Front National’s supporters asserted that the party has a central place as an opposition force in France.
Macron, who has never held elected office and was unknown until three years ago, is France’s youngest president. He w…

North Korea says detains another American citizen, KCNA reports

North Korea said on Sunday it has detained another American citizen on suspicion of acts against the state, which if confirmed would make him the fourth U.S. citizen to be held by the isolated country amid diplomatic tensions.
Kim Hak Song, who was detained on Saturday, worked for the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology, the North's KCNA news agency said.
"A relevant institution of the DPRK detained American citizen Kim Hak Song on May 6 under a law of the DPRK on suspension of his hostile acts against it," KCNA said. DPRK is short for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, North Korea's official name.
A third U.S. citizen, Kim Sang Dok, who was associated with the same school, was detained in late April for hostile acts, according to the North's official media.
The reported detention comes as tensions on the Korean peninsula run high, driven by harsh rhetoric from Pyongyang and Washington over the North's pursuit of nuclear weapons …

Annie~Joy writes: Value Your Pain. #BeInspired!

I don't know your pain but the need to write to you to value your pain has arisen. There are certain things that happen in reality and you just cannot bear it. You got up to go to your work place and to your surprise, the place has burnt down leaving you with nothing. Some things that you used days, weeks and even exceeding years to build were lost in a day within a twinkle of an eye.
I do not know your pain. It is like you invested in that human being and when he or she was about sitting for the exams, kicked the bucket. It is like you really invested in that person and the person made you proud by fulfilling the project you invested in and when the time was due for that person to also invest in you, the person could not wake to hear the usual noise from a hen. That is really sad. It is like you tried so hard for a job and the job center you wished to be your last stop demanded  you to get access to something you cannot give out.

It is like you passed the exams whic…

Nigeria Chibok girls: Eighty-two freed by Boko Haram

Islamist militants of the Boko Haram group have released 82 schoolgirls from a group of 276 they abducted in north-eastern Nigeria three years ago, the president's office says.
They were handed over in exchange for Boko Haram suspects after negotiations.
The girls will be received by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Sunday, a statement said.
The abduction of the so-called "Chibok girls" triggered a global outcry and sparked a huge social media campaign.
Before the latest release, about 195 of the girls were still missing.
The number of Boko Haram suspects released by authorities remains undisclosed.
The 82 schoolgirls are now in the custody of the Nigerian army and were brought by road convoy from a remote area to a military base in Banki near the border with Cameroon, reports the BBC's Stephanie Hegarty from Lagos.
Our reporter says that many families in Chibok will be rejoicing at this latest news, but more than 100 of the girls taken have yet to be returned…

Rich List 2017: UK's super-rich carry on making billions

The UK's richest 1,000 people "kept calm and carried on making billions" amid the Brexit vote of 2016, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.
Their wealth rose by 14% over the past year to a record £658bn, it shows.
Brothers Sri and Gopi Hinduja, who invest in property, healthcare and oil and gas, top this year's list with £16.2bn - up £3.2bn on 2016.
The list includes a record number of British billionaires - 134 - with 14 new ones emerging over the last year.
List compiler Robert Watts said: "While many of us worried about the outcome of the EU referendum, many of Britain's richest people just kept calm and carried on making billions."
He said a revived stock market had been behind the surge in wealth for the super-rich.
'Equities soared'
"We expected to see a chilling effect in the run-up to the EU referendum, but that simply did not materialise," Mr Watts said.
"A buoyant stock market usually drives the wealth of rich-listers h…
