Trump 'determined to pursue peace' after Pope meeting

US President Donald Trump has said he is "more determined than ever" to pursue peace in the world after meeting Pope Francis at the Vatican.
He was granted a short private audience with the head of the Catholic Church on the latest leg of his overseas trip.
The two men have in the past clashed on issues such as migration, climate change and a Mexico-US wall.
Mr Trump is now in Brussels for talks with Nato and EU officials.

Our helicopters not missing – Ghana Gas

The management of Ghana Gas has stated that four helicopters purchased by the erstwhile Mahama administration are not missing as reported. Reports had indicated that the helicopters purchased at a cost of 150 million dollars by the previous administration were missing and could not be traced.

Ghana Gas Helicopters Missing

A leading member of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), Dr Steve Manteaw, has claimed three Ghana Gas Company (GGC) helicopters are missing.
According to him, the government has already paid $150 million for three helicopters but they cannot be traced.
The gas company has not made any public statement about the status of the helicopters, but Dr Anthony Akoto Osei, Minister for Monitoring and Evaluation, has reportedly confirmed that Ghana Gas Company indeed purchased the helicopters.

Nigerian tutoring app Tuteria wins UK engineering award

A tutoring app developed by a 27-year-old Nigerian has won an engineering award given by the UK's Royal Academy of Engineering. 
Godwin Benson designed Tuteria, a platform that links qualified tutors to students in their area and within their budget. 
He developed the platform based on the experiences he had as a tutor.

Over 500 Ghanaians to be repatriated from Saudi Arabia

The Ghana Embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has appealed to Ghanaians living in Saudi Arabia without residency and work permits to take advantage of a package by the Embassy to repatriate them to Ghana.

Saudi Arabia, in March 2017, announced a 90-day amnesty for persons living in that country illegally who wished to return to their countries of origin as part of the Kingdom’s “A Nation Without Illegal Expatriates” campaign.

South African man killed defending his girlfriend from gang of rapists

A man has died while trying to defend his 21-year-old girlfriend from being gang-raped by 6 men in Durban, South Africa.

The heroic boyfriend, whose identify has not yet been disclosed, died at the scene and his girlfriend was taken to an undisclosed local hospital with severe injuries.

Taiwan's top court rules in favour of same-sex marriage

Taiwan's top judges have ruled in favour of gay marriage, paving the way for it to become the first place in Asia to legalise same-sex unions. 
The highest court ruled that current laws preventing members of the same sex from marrying violated their right to equality and were unconstitutional.
It gave parliament two years to amend existing laws or pass new ones.

Manchester attack: UK Police confirm the arrest of three more men

Three more men have been arrested in Manchester in connection with the attack that left at least 22 people dead at Manchester Arena.

Greater Manchester Police said the arrests were made in the south of the city, where a 23-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with Salman Abedi's bombing on Tuesday.

Demi Lovato has another strong message for her detractors. The star is responding to cultural appropriation accusations from her newest music video, "No Promises," in which she stars alongside the deejay trio Cheat Codes. 
According to, throughout most of the 3.5 minute music video, Lovato stands in an empty warehouse, dancing by herself and whipping her hair back and forth. But the Twitterverse quickly pointed out that it appeared the musician wore her hair in dreadlocks, causing a storm of cultural appropriation accusations against the star on social media.

Trump Russia inquiry: Lawyer 'chosen' by president

Donald Trump has appointed lawyer Marc Kasowitz to represent him in an inquiry into Russia's alleged meddling in the US presidential election and any links to the Trump campaign, US media report.
Mr Trump has used services of the New York lawyer - known as a tenacious litigator - for more than a decade.
Last week, former FBI boss Robert Mueller was named special counsel for the Department of Justice inquiry.

Rapper Meek Mill, theater sued over concert fatal shooting

Rapper Meek Mill and a Connecticut theater are being sued over a fatal shooting following a concert in December.
The shooting outside the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford killed 31-year-old Travis Ward and 20-year-old Jaquan Graves, both of New Haven. Two others were injured, including 25-year-old Nathan Mitchell, of Hartford. No arrests have been made.

Ghana to get first spaceship launch pad in Africa

Ghana is set to become the first country in Africa to get a Spaceship Launch pad, following a partnership deal between KESHE Foundation Ghana and BONADES Limited, a Ghanaian-owned Construction Engineering Management (CEM) company.
The two companies are combining their expertise for the development and construction of the first-of-its-kind Spaceship Research Centre in Ghana.

Cortez Kennedy, a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee has died at the age of 48. Police in Orlando, Florida, say the former Seattle Seahawks star was found dead on Tuesday morning and the circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown but that there is nothing suspicious about his death.
