Monday was a good day for Ice Cube. The rapper and actor was joined by family and friends as he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. 
Ice Cube’s star-studded ceremony included speeches from Boyz n the Hood director John Singleton and rapper WC, and was attended by music and screen icons including N.W.A. band mates Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, and MC Ren, as well as Xzibit, Big Boi, Russell Simmons and Martin Lawrence.

'America's Got Talent' Standout Contestant Dead Episode Yet to Air

A standout contestant on "America's Got Talent" has died just weeks before his episode was scheduled to air ... TMZ has learned.
Sources close to the production tell us 29-year-old Dr. Brandon Rogers died over the weekend in a car accident. We're told the crash occurred in Maryland Saturday. Brandon was taken to a hospital where he died Sunday.

Yahoo's Mayer steps down as Verizon seals $4.5 billion purchase

Verizon Communications is finally getting Yahoo’s internet services, giving the telecommunications giant access to hundreds of millions of users, while closing a chapter on the iconic web portal as a stand-alone business after coming under sharp criticism in recent years.
The companies officially closed the $4.5 billion agreement Tuesday, following Yahoo shareholder approval last week. Yahoo properties including Sports and Finance will become part of a new Verizon unit called Oath, which is home to brands like AOL, TechCrunch and the Huffington Post. Oath will be overseen by former AOL Chief Executive Officer Tim Armstrong, while Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, 42, is stepping down.

Cheick Tiote: Papiss Cisse leads tributes at memorial in China

Papiss Cisse led the tributes at a memorial for former Newcastle United team-mate Cheick Tiote in China.
Tiote, 30, died after collapsing during training for Chinese second-tier side Beijing Enterprises on 5 June.
Friends, family and former team-mates attended the memorial and his coffin was draped with an Ivory Coast flag.

YFM Takes Area Codes Jam To Kumasi On Republic Day

Reports making rounds indicate that YFM, Ghana’s number one urban radio station, will host the biggest Republic Day concert, Area Codes Jam, on July 1.

The second edition of the 2017 Area Codes Jam will be hosted at the newly opened Kumasi City Mall.

Area Codes Jam is an annual entertainment show held in some selected communities around the country.

South African actor, Christopher 'Gunman' Kubheka found dead at his home

Christopher Jabu Kubheka, popularly known as 'Gunman' on South African drama series 'Yizo Yizo' was on Monday afternoon found dead in his home in Soshanguve, Pretoria.

Jabu's manager Thabo Makgaretsa confirmed the sad news to TshisaLIVE, saying Jabu's wife found his unresponsive body in their family home and called for help.

Cristiano Ronaldo accused of tax evasion

Spanish prosecutors have accused the Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo of defrauding the authorities of millions of euros in tax. 
The prosecutor's office in Madrid says it has filed a lawsuit against the Portuguese player. 
He is accused of evading tax of 14.7m euros (£13m; $16m) from 2011 to 2014.

Thailand shuts down Facebook and YouTube over royal insults

Today, a Thai courted ordered all Facebook pages and Youtube videos with elements of Royal Insults and inappropriate content to be shut down.

According to Takorn Tantasith, Secretary-General,  National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) “web pages with alleged royal insults were among a total of 965 pages deemed illegal, with others containing violence, copyright issues and other inappropriate content'.

Police Officer Shot Dead At Michel Camp

A Police officer with the Tema regional Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) constable Micheal Kporyi has been shot dead by suspected gunmen at the UBA filing station near Michel Camp in Tema.
The Cop who was detailed for motorbike patrol duty was shot by the two suspected robbers who were also on a motorbike in the early hours of Tuesday.

Major Mahama’s attackers shot him severally - Postmortem

The police have revealed that apart from the fractures on the head of Major Maxwell Adam Mahama, there were bullet wounds on his body, giving a clear indication that the suspects fired shots at the deceased before setting his body ablaze.
During the postmortem, a number of bullets were removed from his body, the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Bright Oduro has told Graphic Online’s Mary Mensah.

Math Teacher charged with having sex with three students

A North Carolina charter school Math teacher, Erin McAuliffe, 25, was arrested last Thursday for allegedly having sex with three male students: two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old. The Rocky Mount Preparatory teacher was charged with "three counts of sexual activity with a student and one count of indecent liberties with a minor".

3 Die, 12 injured in gory accident at Asamankese

Three persons died on the spot when a Toyota Hiace bus on which they were travelling from Akyem Oda to Accra was involved in an accident on the outskirts of Asamankese yesterday.
Twelve other passengers sustained various degrees of injury, with one in critical condition. The driver of the bus with registration number GT 3901-16, Samuel Afrifa aka Odaman and Alex Amoakohene, a shoe seller at Oda, were two of the three deceased persons.

Building collapses in Kenyan capital Nairobi

About 15 people are missing after a seven-storey building collapsed on Monday night in an eastern suburb of the Kenyan capital Nairobi.
The Kenya Red Cross tweeted that response teams were on the scene at the building, in the Kware Pipeline Embakasi area.

Ace broadcaster Tommy-Annan Forson and James Kwasi Oberko on Monday, June 12, made the complaint against the three television stations in Ghana for showing contents with pornographic scenes.

Panama's former President Ricardo Martinelli arrested in US

Former Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli has been arrested in Florida, the US Marshals Service says.
It says Mr Martinelli, aged 65, was taken into federal custody near his home in Coral Gables.
Last year, Panama made an extradition request for Mr Martinelli, who is accused of corruption and spying on political opponents.

Norway proposes ban on full-face hijab in schools and university

The Norwegian government on Monday proposed a bill to ban the full-face Muslim hijab in all schools, from nurseries to universities says it prevent the effective flow of communication between students and teachers.
"We do not want clothes covering the face in nurseries, schools and universities," Minister of Education and Research Torbjorn Roe Isaksen said in a statement, adding that 'these clothes prevent good communication, which is important for students to receive a good education.
