Burn victim attacked by ex-boyfriend dies after 52 surgeries

An Ohio woman who underwent 52 surgeries after her ex-boyfriend set her on fire died Tuesday, her family announced.
Judy Malinowski was set ablaze by Michael Slager following a fight at a gas station in Gahanna, outside Columbus, in 2015. Slager received an 11-year prison sentence in December, while Malinowski — who was disfigured in the attack — underwent dozens of surgeries, Fox 28 reported.

Two teenagers arrested with 30 parcels of "wee"

The police have arrested two persons for attempting to transport 30 parcels of some substance suspected to be marijuana to Nkurakan in the Eastern Region.
The suspects, 19-year-old Evelyn Adade Kokor and Felix Gyimah, 18 were said to have concealed the package in two sacks of cassava.

Man arrested for smashing Ten Commandments monument at Arkansas Capitol

A newly installed Ten Commandments monument on Arkansas state Capitol grounds was toppled on Wednesday, with police saying they have arrested a man they suspect of driving his vehicle into the granite slab. 
"It was shattered into a lot of pieces," Chris Powell, a spokesman for the Secretary of State and Capitol Police, said in an interview.

'Sallah' robbers shoot teenager in Kumasi

A teenager who was shot by suspected armed robbers in Kumasi on Tuesday night is in a stable condition, reports Graphic Online's Daniel Kenu.

Identified as Abdul Osman, the 17-year-old Junior High School (JHS) leaver was shot in the head by the unknown assailants at a 'Sallah' street jam at Asawasi near 'Ahenboboano' [Manhyia Palace].

The first ATM in the world Clocks 50 Years

The world’s first Automated Teller Machine (ATM) on Tuesday June 27, 2017 clocked 50 years.

According to the Metro, the world’s first ATM was unveiled by Barclays at its Enfield branch in North London on June 27 1967.  
As a tribute to the golden anniversary, Barclays transformed the ATM at its Enfield branch into gold, added a commemorative plaque and placed a red carpet in front for its users.

Hollywood actor, Michael Nyqvist dies at 56 after one year battle with Cancer

Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist, known for his roles in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and "John Wick," has died after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.

The 56 year old actor "passed away quietly surrounded by family.

Late Micheal Nyqvist played Mikael Blomkvist in the 2009 Swedish films "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "The Girl Who Played With Fire," and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest," based on Stieg Larsson's books.

Venezuela Supreme Court attacked from helicopter

A police helicopter has dropped grenades on Venezuela's Supreme Court building and fired shots at the interior ministry in what President Nicolas Maduro called a "terror attack" against his government.
Information minister Ernesto Villegas said the stolen helicopter first fired 15 shots on the ministry in Caracas, the capital, as a reception was taking place on Tuesday.
It then flew a short distance to the Supreme Court building and dropped four grenades, two of them near the national guardsmen protecting the building.

Coins thrown into plane engine by elderly passenger for 'luck'

A superstitious elderly passenger delayed a flight in Shanghai after throwing coins at the engine for good luck, a Chinese airline has confirmed.
The 80-year-old woman threw her change at the China Southern Airlines flight as she crossed the tarmac to board.
She told police she launched the coins as she "prayed for safety" on Tuesday.

South Sudan deports three American journalists

The  South Sudan government has deported Three American journalists intercepted at the Nadapal border in Namurunyang State, alleging that the journalists have visa issues.  Foreign Affairs ministry spokesman, Mr. Makol Mawien said the deportation happened last Friday, but did not give their names or the organisations they work for.

Jose Mourinho has led mourners at his father’s funeral in Portugal. Jose Manuel Mourinho Felix passed away at the age of 79 on Sunday after a battle with illness.
A church service was held upon the Manchester United boss’ arrival in Portugal. Mourinho laid his father to rest on Tuesday and was seen carrying the coffin into the church. Hundreds of mourners lined the streets of Setubal for the service.

New wave of cyber attacks hits multinational companies in Europe

A new outbreak of malicious data-scrambling software is causing mass disruption across Europe.
The second-largest drug maker in the United States has confirmed it's been affected by the cyberattack. In a message sent using its verified Twitter account, Merck said that its computer network was "compromised" as part of a global attack.

Woman said to be world's oldest living person celebrates her 131st birthday

A Chinese woman, Ms Alimihan Seyiti, from China's western Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, is believed to be the world's oldest person after celebrating her 131st birthday on June 25. 
Her ID card shows she was born on June 25, 1886 and she spent her birthday at home with her 56 descendants. Her health is said to be in good condition, with her blood pressure, lipids and sugar all at normal levels.
