Sudan faces Fifa ban on Saturday over government interference

Fifa has warned Sudan that it faces an international ban from football unless it overturns a governmental order to install a new football association president. 
The ban is set to begin on 1 July after two rival group claimed control of the country's association. 
On 2 June, Sudan's Ministry of Justice ordered the Fifa-recognised SFA president Mutasim Gaafar Sir Elkhatim to be removed and replaced by Abdel Rahman Sir Elkatim.

‘Efie Wura’ actor, Kofi Agyiri dies from kidney-related ailment

Kofi Agyiri, of the popular TV series ‘Efie Wura’ fame has reportedly passed away, today June 29.  He died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after being ill for some time.
His death was confirmed by fellow actor Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari better known as Koo Fori. Speaking to Okay FM, Koo Fori said he recieved the news of the actor’s passing from the producer and director of the ‘Efie Wura’ series, Kofi Andoh.

GHAMRO, Police And Media To Enforce Copyright Act To Fight Piracy

The Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) has organised a one day copyright workshop for selected members of the police, Copyright Monitoring Team and GHAMRO Enforcement Team.

The copyright workshop, which was held at the Miklin Hotel in Kumasi, was under the theme “Promotion and Protection of Copyright and Related rights”.

The one day workshop was part of the series of measures adopted by the newly elected GHAMRO Board led by Rex Omar to ensure the enforcement of the Copyright Act and music piracy.

Famara Diedhiou: Bristol City sign Senegal striker in club-record £5.3m deal

Bristol City have broken their transfer record to sign Senegal international striker Famara Diedhiou for £5.3m from French top flight club Angers.
The 24-year-old has agreed a four-year deal at Ashton Gate.
The Robins' previous transfer record of £3.25m was also paid to Angers for striker Jonathan Kodjia in 2015.

Michael Bond, the creator of Paddington Bear, has died at home at the age of 91, following a short illness.

Bond, who published his first book, A Bear Called Paddington, in 1958, went on to write more than 200 books for children and till date more than 35 million Paddington books have been sold around the world to date.

Cardinal Pell: Vatican treasurer charged with sex offences

The Vatican treasurer and Australia's most senior Catholic figure Cardinal George Pell has been charged with sex offences in Australia. 
The charges relate to alleged "historical" incidents, police in the state of Victoria said.
The allegations were made by more than one person, said Police Deputy Commissioner Shane Patton.

Gabonese opposition politician arrested for threatening the President and inciting rebellion

Authorities in Gabon have arrested an opposition politician who threatened to cause violence by forcing President Ali Bongo to resign from his position. Confirming his arrest Wednesday, State prosecutor, Steeve Ndong Essame Ndong told AFP, that Roland Desire Aba'a Minko was placed in protective custody after "he threatened state security, inciting rebellion and circulating fake news to undermine public order".
