Ghanaian chef to cook ‘waakye’ for Queen Elizabeth

Ghanaian chef, Chef Elijah Amoo Addo has accepted a request by Queen Elizabeth to cook for her.

Elijah Amoo Addo, a food stylist, was in the UK to receive the Queen’s Young Leaders Award for his contribution to community development in Ghana.
“The most fascinating of it all is having to meet the Queen and for the Queen to ask me if I’ll love to cook for her which obviously I said yes. I’m going to cook one of our favourite dishes in Ghana, Waakye,” he said in an interview after receiving the award.

Kanye West reportedly splits from JAY-Z's Tidal amid ongoing feud

The feud between Kanye West, 40, and JAY-Z, 47, is still going strong. On July 2, new reports revealed some major beef between them over the music streaming company Tidal. 
According to TMZ, who got the low down from sources directly connected to Tidal, Kanye wants out of the company that JAY-Z owns because of a money dispute. In turn, JAY-Z is reportedly threatening to sue his former pal if he opts to move his music to a different platform.

West African, France leaders set up 5,000-strong force

Five African countries have launched a new multinational force to fight armed groups in the Sahel region, which France's President Emmanuel Macron told a summit in Mali should be fully operational "in a matter of weeks".
The new regional anti-terror force is set to include as many as 5,000 soldiers, with one battalion from each of the so-called G5 Sahel countries: Mali, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Niger and Chad.

Mel B reportedly has only £961 left in company account after squandering her £38 million Spice Girls fortune

Former Spice Girls star, Mel B, 42, and her estranged husband have been involved in legal battles since their separation in March, with Belafonte demanding an exorbitant amount of money in maintenance and spousal support. They are also battling for custody of their child.

Mel's financial situation was laid bare in the courts this past week. She attended court in Los Angeles on Friday for the first time and it was revealed that there was next to nothing left of her multi-million pounds fortune due to her "extravagant" lifestyle. The court heard that Mel has only £961 left in one of her company accounts.

US President, Donald Trump woke up this morning and went ham on CNN by posting a video of himself at Wrestlemania 23 where he beat up Vince McMahon. This time, rather than use Vince, he superimposed CNN as the recipient of the violence. In the video he bodyslammed and punched 'CNN' several times.

Akufo-Addo attends 29th AU Summit

President Akufo-Addo left Ghana Sunday, July 2, 2017, to attend the 29th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union, which is being held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The meeting of the Heads of State will take place from July 3 to July 4, 2017, under the theme, “Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investment in the Youth”.

Australian boxer, Jeff Horn defeats Manny Pacquiao to claim WBO Welterweight title

The boxing world is currently in shock as legendary boxer, Manny Pacquiao lost his WBO Welterweight title to a relative unknown Australian boxer, Jeff Horn.

In the 12-round match dubbed the "Battle of Brisbane", 29-year-old former schoolteacher who was considered an uneven match for veteran Pacquiao was declared the winner on points: 117-111, 115-113, 115-113 by the judges.

Brazil arrests notorious drug kingpin Luiz Carlos da Rocha

Brazilian police have captured a notorious drug kingpin who used plastic surgery to evade capture for almost 30 years, authorities say.
Luiz Carlos da Rocha - nicknamed "White Head" - is believed to be the leader of a massive cocaine empire in South America.
Federal police said sentences handed down to Rocha amount to more than 50 years of prison time. Police said he was "a criminal who lived discreetly and in the shadows".

Trump defends his use of social media in a series of tweets

US President Donald Trump has defended his use of social media in a series of tweets, following a row over comments he made about two MSNBC TV presenters.
"My use of social media is not presidential - it's modern day presidential," he tweeted on Saturday. 
Earlier in the week, the president launched a crude personal attack on Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.
