(Video) Violent chaos as riot breaks out at Pretoria prison

Prisoners at Pretoria's Kgosi Mampuru II prison in South Africa started a violent riot on Sunday afternoon causing as many as 19 people to sustain injuries. The riot began after prisoners expressed displeasure over how parole was being dealt with.

It turned violent when inmates beat one of the wardens with bricks for calling them an offensive word.

Emmanuel Macron: Man charged with plotting to kill French president

A suspected far-right extremist has been charged with plotting to kill French President Emmanuel Macron at the Bastille Day parade later this month.
The 23-year-old was arrested in a Paris suburb last Wednesday after police were alerted by users of a videogame chat room where he allegedly said he wanted to buy a gun.
He also said he wanted to attack minorities, a judicial source told AFP.

Zimbabweans donate cattle to AU after Robert Mugabe appeal

Zimbabwe has auctioned cattle worth $1m (£770,000) to raise money for the African Union (AU) Foundation to help end the "donor dependency syndrome", President Robert Mugabe has said. 
He added that he had donated 300 cattle from his herd, and other Zimbabweans doubled the number as they wanted to contribute towards a "noble cause".

Ms Zhang, 26, was doing a live stream for something she termed "Aloe Vera Feast" in a bid to promote the benefits of eating raw aloe vera when she bit off a part of alarge plant, unaware that she was consuming Agave Americana, a poisonous plant. The video of the live show has been circulated online by various Chinese websites.

Laptop ban lifted for Abu Dhabi airline

The United States on Sunday lifted a ban on laptops in cabins on flights from Abu Dhabi to the United States, saying the United Arab Emirates' Etihad Airways had put in place required tighter security measures.
According to Reuters, Etihad welcomed the decision and credited a facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport where passengers clear U.S. immigration before they land in the United States for "superior security advantages" that had allowed it to satisfy U.S. requirements.

A team of scientists out of Japan has put a damper on a lot of summer parties with a new report that says that the more people drink, the faster they age on a cellular level. 
According to Science Daily, scientists in Japan compared alcoholic patients with non-alcoholic patients of the same ages and assessed their drinking histories and lifestyle habits and compared DNA samples. Scientists say the DNA showed the of heavy-drinking patients had shorter telomeres than those of patients of the same ages who were not heavy drinkers.

Gulf row: Qatar is given a further 48 hours to agree to demands

Saudi Arabia and three other Arab states have extended the deadline for Qatar to accept a list of demands or face further sanctions by 48 hours.
The initial deadline for Qatar to agree to the group's 13 demands, including the shutting down of the Al Jazeera news network, expired on Sunday.
The Gulf state has said that it will submit its formal response in a letter delivered to Kuwait on Monday.
Qatar denies accusations from its neighbours that it funds extremism.

Man 30, commits suicide for fear of losing lover

A 30-year-old man over the weekend committed suicide at Axim, Western Region, over a misunderstanding with his girlfriend.   
According to GNA, the deceased Kweku Mensah, who earns his living at the beach, is reported to have taken his life in connection with an unresolved issue between him and his girlfriend with whom he has two children.
