Vodafone CEO To Speak At 4th Today Annual Lecture

Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Yolanda Zoleka Cuba, is scheduled to speak at the 4th edition of the Today Annual Lecture this Thursday, 20th July at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra.

Yolanda Cuba, who was recently adjudged the Telecom Industry’s Personality of the Year at the GITTA awards, will be sharing her thoughts on the topic, “Using Digital Technology to Accelerate Business Growth’ at the one-day forum organised by Today Newspaper in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications.

U.S. Supreme Court partly rejects Trump on travel ban

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected on Wednesday a bid by President Donald Trump to block a judge's ruling that prevented his travel ban on people from six Muslim-majority countries from being applied to grandparents of U.S. citizens. 
But in a partial win for Trump, the court put on hold part of the judge's ruling that would allow more people to enter the United States under a separate ban on refugees if it went into effect.

Man, 60, jailed 20yrs for chopping off wife’s hand in Eastern Region

A farmer at Okorase in the West Akyem Municipality of the Eastern region has been jailed 20 years by a Koforidua High Court after he was found guilty for chopping off his wife’s hand over suspicion of infidelity.
The convict, Samuel Kwabena Mfoanu, 60, has been married to his wife for 35 years.
Presenting the facts of the matter to the Court, Deputy Eastern Regional State Attorney, Cyril Boateng Keteku, stated that the complainant, Esther Offei, 56, and the convict have six children together.

Three Kenyan men sentenced to death for stripping woman

Three Kenyan men who stripped and attacked a woman in a bus have been sentenced to death by a magistrate in the capital, Nairobi.
The death sentence was imposed after the three were convicted of robbery with violence.
A further 25-year sentence for stripping the woman was suspended due to the death penalty.

Saudi police release miniskirt video woman without charge

Saudi police have released a young woman who appeared in a video wearing a miniskirt and crop-top in public without charge.
She was summoned for questioning after a video of her dressed in "indecent" clothing sparked a heated debate in the Muslim country.
Some demanded she be punished for breaking the strict Saudi dress code.

Zambia's founding President Kenneth Kaunda has been hospitalized at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka.
The country's Health Minister, Chitalu Chilufya said that Kaunda's condition was not serious. 'He's a national asset so we thought we could do other routine medical check ups whilst he is in our custody. Everything is fine and he will be out soon' he said.

An 86-year-old serial US jewel thief, whose crimes date back to the 1950s, has again been charged with theft.
Doris Payne was arrested at a Walmart store in Chamblee, in Georgia, with $86.22 (£66) worth of items, police say. She has been released on bail.

"Despacito" has become the most streamed track of all time with more than 4.6 billion plays across streaming platforms.

WHO report says Ghana reaches 90% vaccination coverage for 3 diseases

The 2016 Immunization Data released by the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that Ghana has reached the Global Vaccine Action Plan (GVAP) target of 90% coverage for the third dose of the diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine (DTP3).
