Watch Video Premiere: Village Sex – Wiyaala

Upper West songstress Wiyaala has dropped the visuals for “Village Sex”, the first single from her forthcoming album.
“Village Sex” is an adaption of a traditional wedding song from Wiyaala’s village telling of a young bridegroom who is being teased by the women because he is can think of nothing but consumating the marriage on his wedding night. The original meaning of the song is to encourage young bachelors to marry before they have sex as tradition demands.

Africa's richest man falls in Forbes rating

Billionaire Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote has fallen from being the 51st richest person in the world to the 105th, according to the 2017 Forbes Rich List. 
Forbes magazine reports that Mr Dangote's wealth dropped from $15.4bn (£11.8bn) in 2016 to $12.2bn this year, due to Nigeria's currency being devalued.

North Korea fired a ballistic missile on Friday in an unusual late-night test launch from its northern Jangang province that landed in the sea off its east coast, possibly in Japan's exclusive economic zone, South Korea and Japan said.

South Africa could make signing official language

South Africa could soon give sign language official status, one of a few countries in Africa to do so. This is after a recommendation from the parliamentary constitutional review committee to alter the constitution.
The country's deaf community, which has lobbied for the change, says official recognition would help "give them a voice".

Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif resigns after Supreme Court order to disqualify him

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday resigned from his post, his office said, hours after the country's Supreme Court disqualified him over corruption claims against his family.
According to Reuters, the Supreme Court said Sharif is not fit to hold office and ordered a criminal investigation into him and his family. The court also disqualified Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Google 'to train' 10 million in Africa

Google is planning to train 10 million people in Africa in online skills over the next five years in a bid to make them more employable, its chief executive Sundar Pichai said on July 27, 2017 in Lagos, Reuters reports.
A spokeswoman for the company is reported to have said the technology giant will also train 100,000 software developers in Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. 

80 Ghanaians deported from Libya

Over eighty Ghanaians are who illegally residing in Libya have been deported.
The deportees arrived at the Kotoka International Airport Thursday night to go through immigration procedures.
Many of deportees who looked weary claimed they were imprisoned for over 8 months by Libyan officials prior to their deportation.

Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos became the richest man in the world  on Thursday morning, when a sudden surge in Amazon stock made him $1.5 billion overnight. His fortune grew to over $90 billion that day. 
For several hours, Bezos was the richest person on earth, surpassing Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

'More than 40' killed in battle with Boko Haram in Nigeria

More than 40 people have died during an attempt to free people during an ambush by militant Islam group Boko Haram, sources have told the BBC.
At least five members of an oil exploration team were killed, a spokesman for the University of Maiduguri said.
Soldiers and members of a vigilante group also died in the ambush.

According to the minister, although Ghanaian contractors are always pushing for more contracts, they do not want to be punished if they breach the terms of their contracts.

Body Camera Footage from Venus Williams’ Car Crash Released

Body camera footage from the moments following Venus Williams‘ June 9 collision with another car in Florida was released Thursday.
In the video, police informed Williams, 37, that she was “at fault” in the fatal car accident. But while police initially said Williams was at fault for the crash, several weeks later police said Williams had “lawfully entered the intersection,” and told PEOPLE there was “no final determination” of who was at fault.

No BECE Pass, No Free SHS- Gov’t

The government has announced its much touted Free Senior High School policy will be enjoyed by only students who pass their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Outlining the master plan for the flagship Free SHS policy expected to be rolled out September 2017, the Education Minister Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh noted qualified students must also be placed under the current Computerised School Selection Placement System (CSSPS).
