Model born with defect wants to Inspire others to live a fuller Life

Lyric Mariah Heard was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome, a random, non-genetic birth defect that’s caused in-utero. She’s a gorgeous model with only one foot and two disfigured hands.
However, from her Instagram page, the 21-year-old doesn’t host a pity party for herself. She preaches a message of self-love and self-acceptance.

NBA star, David West to lead 1-day basketball clinic In Accra, August 15

NBA star David West will engage young kids in a skills camp to be hosted at the University of Ghana-Legon, on Tuesday August 15.
Davidwill be joinedby one of his longtime students of the game T.J Warren of the Phoenix Suns as well as former Houston Rockets power forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu to help with the one-day programme.

Drake, Future sued by a woman raped at concert

A woman is suing rappers Drake and Future after she was raped at one of their concerts.
The unnamed woman claims a man associated with the Nashville venue, Bridgestone Arena, told her he would take her backstage to meet with the stars, but instead violently attacked her and raped her, according to The Tennessean.

Muslim woman wins $85,000 lawsuit after police forcibly remove her hijab in detention

The city of Long Beach, California, will pay $85,000 to settle a 2016 lawsuit filed by a Muslim woman after a Police officer forcibly removed her hijab when she was in police custody.  
According to reports, the incident started when Kirsty Powell and her husband were pulled over by police for driving a "low rider" car. Powell was the passenger, but was arrested after police found a warrant under her name for a shoplifting incident.

Pop star Taylor Swift has won a key victory in her court battle with ex-radio DJ David Mueller, whom she claims groped her at a 2013 concert.
Mr Mueller, 55, originally sued the pop star for $3m (£2.3m), saying she cost him his job.
His claim was dismissed on Friday in a Denver court.

Africa International Film Festival Students Set For Scholarship In France

The Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) is set to send another set of film students on scholarship – this time, to CineF’abrique, a film school in Lyon, France.

The scholarship is the third in the series, whereby 20 students are selected from the 200 that participate in the AFRIFF Talent Development Workshops annually for further training abroad. The talent workshop is an intrinsic part of the festival programmes that has held sway for seven years.
