Black Stars drop out of top 50 nations in September FIFA ranking

The Black Stars of Ghana have dropped out of the top 50 countries in the FIFA World Rankings to 52nd place in the list released for the month of September on Thursday.
However, the Stars improved from ninth place in the August ranking to become the eight best team on the African continent for September.

Tanzanian conjoined twins Maria and Consolata Mwakikuti have begun special computer classes at the Ruaha Catholic University (Rucu) ahead of the start of term, the Citizen reports.
The newspaper says that they have arrived earlier than other students in order to settle in and make sure that the facilities are adapted to their needs.

Blaze kills 24 at Islamic school in Malaysian capital

A fire at an Islamic boarding school for boys killed at least 24 people, most of them students, in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur on Thursday morning, officials said.
Officials suspected an electrical short circuit caused the blaze that broke out in a top floor dormitory, where most of the students perished.

Edith Windsor, icon of gay rights movement, dies aged 88

American LGBT rights activist, Edith Windsor, who became a gay rights icon when she sued the federal government to recognize her same-sex marriage, has died on Tuesday at the age of 88.
Her death was confirmed to the New York Times by her wife Judith Kasen-Windsor, but she didn't specify a cause. The pair got married in 2016.
