Pakistan bride accidentally poisons 13 family members in failed bid to kill husband

A Pakistani woman has been arrested after a plot to murder her husband with a poisoned glass of milk led to the death of 13 family members.
The woman’s mother-in-law used the tainted milk to make lassi, according to police, after her husband refused the glass. A total of 27 people, including several children, suffered poisoning from the yoghurt-based drink.

President Uhuru Kenyatta declared winner of Kenya's controversial presidential election re-run

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has been declared winner of a controversial re-run of the presidential election. He won 98% of the vote with turnout at just under 39% less than half that recorded in August's vote, according to the election commission.
The opposition leader, Raila Odinga, pulled out of the re-run and urged his supporters to boycott it.

British model tied up and robbed of valuables worth £80,000 by machete-wielding gang in South Africa

British model Sarah MacDonnell was tied up by a machete-wielding gang during her stay at a luxury villa in Cape Town, South Africa. 
Ms MacDonnell, along with five other Britons, were robbed of £80,000 worth of valuables after three robbers cut through a fence of the holiday home and forced their way inside her room at Table Mountain’s £870 a-night- Maison Noir. 
The 39-year-old had been in Cape Town for a photo shoot for her London yoga company Manuka Life.
Her boyfriend, identified only as David, had stepped outside for a cigarette when three men wearing balaclavas grabbed him from behind, threatened him with machetes and a screwdriver and forced him inside the villa.
“I was on the loo and one of these guys suddenly appeared right next to me and put a screwdriver against my throat, then hauled me on to the floor,” Ms MacDonnell told the Mail on Sunday
“David was brought into the bathroom by the other two men and his hands were tied up with an iPhone cord. It was petrifying.

Saudi Arabia to allow women into sports stadiums

Saudi Arabia will allow women to attend sports events in stadiums for the first time from next year, officials say.
Families will be able to enter the stadiums in three major cities - Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
It is another move towards giving more freedom to Saudi women, who face strict gender segregation rules, and follows the historic lifting of a driving ban.
