President Akufo Addo has charged Ghana's newly appointed High Commissioner to Malaysia and career diplomat, Akua Sekyiwaa Ahenkora, to do all within her power to help Ghana develop it's palm oil industry like Malaysia has done.

Addressing a brief ceremony held at the Conference Room of the the Office of the President after administering the Oaths of Secrecy, the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office to the High Commissioner, President Akufo Addo said Malaysia and Ghana attained independence in the same year, 1957, however, Malaysia has taken giant economic steps particularly in the palm oil sector. To that end, the President urged the High Commissioner to work hard to ensure that the expertise of Malaysia in the palm oil industry is tapped into by Ghanaians to develop our own palm oil industry.
