Greater Manchester Police To Collaborate With Ghana Police To Fight Internet Crime

An international non-governmental organisation( NGO, Hanging Minds (Gh) Ltd, has facilitated a collaborative arrangement between the Ghana Police Service and the Greater Manchester Police Force for their mutual benefits.

The partnership is also expected to establish and maintain sustainable and mutual relationships among the two institutions.

At a meeting to work on the agreement, Inspector General of Police, the Mr. David Asante – Apeatu articulated the core vision of the Ghana Police Service.

“Our long-term strategic goal is to make the Ghana Police Service the best in sub-Saharan Africa and among the excellent police services in the world”.

Others present at the meeting were the management and Board of the Ghana Police Service, representatives of the Greater Manchester Police and Executive Directors of Changing Minds.

He said so far the Interaction between the experienced police officers from the Greater Manchester Police, Superintendent Danny Inglis and Charles Crichlow with the Ghana Police Authority had been excellent and immensely constructive.

“Unquestionably the laudable and commendable vision of the Ghana Police force can be achieved through the constructive partnership working with the Greater Manchester Police,” he said.

Superintendent Inglis said there were a number of areas where the expertise of Greater Manchester Police combined with the knowledge and experience of the Ghana Police Force would enable an excellent partnership for mutual benefit.

“This will include areas such as training, community policing and serious crime including cyber-crime” he said.
