Mfantseman Awards Honours Mr. James Korsah-Brown

The Mfantseman Municipal is one of the 17 districts in the Central Region of Ghana, its population was over 250,000 as at the last population census in 2010.

Its capital is Saltpond, Mfantseman Municipal is located along the Atlantic coastline the Central Region of Ghana stretching for about 21 kilometers along the coastline and for about 13 kilometers inland and constituting an area of 612 square kilometers.

The Municipal is bounded to the west and Northwest by Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, to the east by Ekumfi District and to the south by the Atlantic Ocean. Ekumfi District was created out of Mfantseman district. The District as of 2012 started from Mankessim to Yamoransa.

The inhabitants are mainly employed through fishing, farming or trading.

The capital Saltpond was the birthplace of Convention People's Party (CPP), the party of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah. Kwame Nkrumah planted a palm tree that signified the birth of UGCC in the town. The palm tree is found along the main road of the town. The first tarred road in Ghana is also found in Saltpond.

Per the above, it is very obvious Mfantseman district harbours numerous people with good pedigree considering the fact that the likes of the late Sir Arku Korsah, Prof. Allotey etc are from the area. It was therefore imperative for an award scheme to be put together to commend the up and coming brands and populace making the area proud.

Key highlight of the event was when Mr. James Korsah-Brown was honoured for extra-ordinary performance over the years. He’s been at the forefront of issues, supporting communities in sports development, education, entertainment etc and at the same time increasing the popularity of the municipality through numerous socio-economic projects.

His honour was of no surprise as many of the populace trouped the event ground just to get a glimpse of the young and vibrant man making good inroads and harnessing the potentials of Mfantseman municipality.

Per profile, Mr. James Korsah-Brown is currently the Board Chairman of 3MA, a Corporate Banker and a philanthropist who hails from Saltpond, the municipal capital of Mfantseman municipality.

The event was held in Mankessim on April 7th at the Obaatanpa hall and saw selected few including the Queen Mother Nana Ama Amissah, Ama Jessica the biggest FMCG distributor being honoured.

During the 2015/2016 Mfantseman heroes award, Mr. Korsah-Brown won Best Municipal Youth after keenly competing other good youth personalities.
