Meghan Markle’s Dad Thomas Successfully Undergoes Heart Surgery

Meghan Markle's dad is reportedly on the mend following a successful heart surgery conducted Wednesday morning.

Thomas Markle is awake and coherent following the operation at 10:30 eastern time, per TMZ. The soon-to-be Royal's dad reportedly spoke with the tabloid website, saying doctors implanted three stents in his blood vessels.

The successful surgery follows a massive heart attack Tom suffered eight days ago. He had expressed enthusiasm in walking his daughter Markle down the aisle this Saturday, amidst family drama, but the health complication made that impossible.

There is no confirmation on when Markle will be released from the hospital.

His daughter Meghan, 36, will tie the knot with Prince Harry, 33, at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle on Saturday, May 19.
