Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding Bishop Michael Curry discloses he has prostate cancer

Most Rev. Michael B. Curry, the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, who delivered a passionate sermon during the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May, has disclosed he has prostate cancer.

“After a variety of tests, consultations and conversations with my wife and daughters, I decided on a surgical treatment course,” he wrote in a letter, which was released by the church.

The 65-year-old Bishop from Chicago, Illinois said he will undergo surgery on Tuesday to remove the prostate gland.

'I am happy to say that the prognosis looks very good and quite positive. I have spoken with several others who have gone through this, and who have offered both encouragement and helpful advice. I will be in the hospital for at least a day, then at home to recuperate. “

In the letter, Curry also revealed that the recuperation time is between four and six weeks.
