Trump says stock market would crash and "everybody would be very poor" if he is impeached
There have been calls to impeach US President Donald Trump, but Trump
doesn't think this will not be in the best interest of Americans.
The call to impeach Trump increased as his associates have been
embroiled in an array of legal woes. Former Trump campaign chairman,
Paul Manafort, was found guilty on eight charges including tax fraud on
Tuesday. Also, Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, admitted to
violating campaign-finance law at Trump’s direction.
But Donald Trump said he doesn’t see a reason for Congress to impeach
him. He added that if they do that, the stock market would crash and
Americans would be poorer.
Speaking during an interview with Fox News broadcast on Thursday,
Trump said: "I don’t know how you can impeach somebody who’s done a
great job."
He added: "I’ll tell you what, if I ever got impeached, I think the
market would crash. I think everybody would be very poor. Because
without this thinking you would see numbers that you wouldn’t believe,
in reverse."
