Photos: Patrons of the just ended Music and Spoken Word event, #SpitBarsNPoetry18 had their monies' worth with unforgettable and sizzling performances from the country's best poetic stars.
The 2018 edition of the annual Spit Bars and Poetry event came off over the weekend at the Tesano Baptist Church, 4pm
- with Joy New reporter Princess Sebidi as MC, intelligently and
gracefully moderating priceless red carpet moments and the entire open
mic sessions.
Over
20 poets and spoken word artistes including Nana Asaase, Rhyme Sonny,
Stella, Psalm 1, Mckingtorch The Poet, Abotreh, Asford Psalms, Nana
Kissi, Joelle, Kojo Bibinii, Cobby D'Poet, whoisdeydzie, Afua Adomako
and a few other notable Ghanaian poets featured.
Spit Bars and Poetry provided both renowned and upcoming
artistes in the music and poetry genre the opportunity to showcase their
talents while some performed their first single among other great music
collections on stage to cap the dazzling sounds and moments.
US-based Ghanaian poet Tonyela Arphul aka Masterpiece came
down to grace the event. Immanuel Emmanuel of Stars of the Future fame
and Negar Wujangi of Nissi Music INC ushered participants into an
atmosphere of worship to begin the new month.
Press Agent and Manager at Crabbita Media, Nathaniel
Sackitey Crabbe called on investors "to see the opportunities available
in the creative arts particularly spoken word and poetry." Assuring
investors that "there's much greater profit returns for [companies] and
individuals who will sponsor" Spit Bars and Poetry 2019.
Ghana's leading Christian media house Sunny FM provided media support to this year's event.
