West Jam Entertainment Presents £500 To Winners Of Mr & Miss Teen Ghana UK

 The grand finale for the first edition for the Mr and Miss Ghana UK pageantry came off last Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Sanctuary, London. It was a night of beauty, glamour, and excellence shrouded in an aura of excitement as delegates championed the need for youth empowerment and encouragement in young businesses.

West Jam Entertainment, a partnering media house, awarded the winners of the pageant a sum of £500 to be invested in their business ideas. West Jam Entertainment is a specialized media house in the areas of events management, artist management and talent grooming.

The winners of the night, Desrine Zemira, a student and CEO of Slayed By Desrine Zemira and Nathaniel Frimpong, a student who has a passion for activism. Nathaniel plans to use his platform to create awareness on sickle cell anaemia and young stroke survivors through sports.

Desrine Zemira plans to use her platform to raise awareness on Alopecia; the partial or complete absence of hair from areas of the body where it normally grows.

“Hair does not define us as women but it is our crown and we should be able to feel beautiful at all times. I urge to create a platform that inspires young females to increase their confidence and self-esteem whilst also allowing them to find their talents within different sectors of beauty such as hair, makeup and beauty.”

Speaking on the programme, Desrine added that “Winning Miss Teen Ghana UK gives me the opportunity to transform my dream into a reality, I aim to hand make free wigs for females who suffer from conditions causing hair loss.”

Teen Ghana UK is a youth initiative program that inspires, motivates and educates young teenagers, adapting confidence in the individual and allowing them to embrace self-confidence for the big transition into the new stages of their lives as brand ambassadors for Teen Ghana UK.

The winners are committed to promoting Ghana’s culture in the UK by creating a platform for young people to have a voice. Most importantly the two winners (Mr & Miss Teen Ghana UK 2018) will focus on their individual business idea for a year, working closely with industry links, sponsors and mentors to ensure their ideas are well executed.

All contestants are individually assessed by a panel of judges on their overall performance, their creative business ideas and their 8 weeks of mentoring mentored by varies of mentors. Our mentoring program encourages team building, unity, self-confidence, cultural education and building valuable relationships as they embark on this journey.

Teen Ghana UK is endorsed by the Ghana High Commission to the United Kingdom.
