Photos: Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle hug and laugh as they arrive for Commonwealth Day service

The Queen and other members of the British Royal Family attended the Commonwealth Observance Service in Westminster Abbey on Monday March 11, 2019.

The Duchess of Cambridge and her pregnant sister-in-law the Duchess of Sussex, both 37, exchanged the warm greeting as they gathered at the entrance with other senior royals, awaiting the arrival of the Queen and Prince Charles.

They were also pictured laughing as they spoke to each other before the ceremony.

The theme of this year’s service was ‘A Connected Commonwealth’. The Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, sent a Commonwealth Day message in which she highlighted how people around the world are drawn together because of the collective values shared by the Commonwealth.
