Four missing Takoradi girls confirmed dead - Acting IGP, James Oppong-Boanuh.

The Inspector General of Police has confirmed the results of DNA test conducted on some exhumed in a house in Takoradi are that of the missing girls.

A special police operation led to the discovery and exhumation of the bodies of the three missing Takoradi girls at Kasawrodo in the Western region , Starr News confirmed in August this year.

The bodies were retrieved from a manhole in the house of the suspect Samuel Udotek Wills.

The whereabouts of three of the missing Takoradi girls – Ruthlove Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum and Priscilla Koranchie – who were kidnapped between August and December 2018 had become a mystery several months after the issue gained national prominence.

The acting IGP also disclosed that the families of the four girls have been informed by the Police.

The Police added that further investigations revealed that the girls were victims of a “serial kidnapping and murdering syndicate that operated in the Takoradi area.”

“A few minutes ago, officers of the Ghana Police service informed four families in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana that DNA test conducted on some human remains discovered into the course of police investigations into the disappearance 4 missing girls have turned positive, as the remains of the girls. The Ghana Police service has with regret informed the families that the remains of Ruth Abakah, Priscilla Kuranchie, Ruth Love Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum.

“Investigations now establish that the girls were victims of a serial kidnapping and murdering syndicate that operated in the Takoradi area.”
