COVID-19: Ghana’s High Commissioner to UK Owusu Ankomah tests positive

Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Papa Owusu Ankomah has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus, information gathered by Starrfm.com.gh indicates.

According to sources, he is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) of an undisclosed hospital in the UK where he is responding to treatment.

The UK currently has over 65, 000 cases of the deadly coronavirus with almost 8,000 deaths.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s case count stands at 378 as at Friday, April 10, with six deaths and four recoveries.

The Eastern region on Thursday recorded 15 more COVID-19 cases bringing the total number of cases in the region to 16.

The 15 persons tested positive on April 9, 2020, are among the 244 quarantined contacts in the AFCON Construction Company in Lower Manya Krobo where an Indian expat working on Tema to Akosombo railway project tested Positive on March 31, 2020.

All 16 persons who have tested positive have been quarantined.
