CNN journalist Richard Quest marries longtime male partner

CNN anchor Richard Quest has gotten married to his longtime male partner Chris Pepesterny.

Quest made the announcement on Instagram, writing: "We said 'I Do' at the weekend. Happiest day of our lives." The two got engaged in May 2019, after his lover agreed to the journalist’s marriage proposal.  In March, they were forced to postpone their wedding but promised to tie the knot before the end of the year.

Quest announced at the time: "Today Chris and I were supposed to get married in London. Of course we had to postpone. Sad but necessary.  We will marry later in the year, with a bigger party. I wanted to acknowledge how we are all facing such difficult times, in so many different ways. This too shall pass."

Wendy Shay to take FDA, Gaming Commission of Ghana to court

Singer Wendy Shay says she will take the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and the Gaming Commission of Ghana to a human rights court.

The RuffTown signee stated that she wants to sue the two institutions for banning the use of celebrities in advertisements for alcoholic drinks or betting companies or ambassadors.

According to her, celebrities deserve better than the treatment they are getting from these institutions.

Taking to Twitter, Wendy Shay urged her fellow celebrities to join her in the fight.

“GH Celebs can we put our differences aside and fight the system ?? I guess we don’t know how powerful we are …”

“Well I’m taking the FDA and Gaming Commission to the Human Rights Court. Celebs are also Ghanaians and deserve better !! Ghana wake Up !! [SIC].” Meanwhile, some social media users have advised the singer against taking the issue up in the human rights court.

Neymar surpasses Ronaldo in Brazil's all-time goalscoring charts after scoring hat-trick against Peru

Paris Saint-Germain striker, Neymar has surpassed Ronaldo and moved into second place behind Pele on Brazil's all-time goalscoring list after scoring a hat-trick in a 4-2 World Cup qualifying victory againt Peru.

The 28-year old achieved the record with two penalties and an injury-time goal on his 103rd appearance for Brazil at Lima's National Stadium last night.

He celebrated the third goal by holding up the No 9 with his hands in what appeared to be a tribute to Ronaldo, the former Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Corinthians legend.  He now has 64 goals, two more than Ronaldo and 13 behind Pele, who heads the list with 77, according to the count by the world governing body FIFA.

Brazil coach, Tite said after the game: 'What I can say is Neymar has this unpredictability. He is the bow and the arrow, he's a player who both makes and takes chances. And he gets better and better, and more mature.'

Apple unveils first iPhones with 5G wireless

Apple announced Tuesday it was launching new iPhones using 5G, the latest smartphone maker to adapt to the new-generation, high-speed wireless networks.

"We are going to introduce 5G across our entire lineup of iPhone models," Apple chief executive Tim Cook said at a streamed launch event from the company's headquarters in California.

"Today is the beginning of a new era for iPhone."

The new models include the redesigned iPhone 12 -- successor to the top-selling iPhone 11 launched last year -- which will start at $799.

A smaller iPhone 12 mini with a 5.4 inch display will start at $699.

The new lineup of iPhones was expected to ignite a surge in interest in smartphone upgrades to take advantage of the faster networks.

Apple joins other handset makers including Samsung and Huawei in introducing smartphones taking advantage of the growing 5G footprint around the world, which could open up new markets and technologies.
