Tema District WH & OMS donate to Tema Polyclinic maternity unit

The Tema District Women's Home and Overseas Missionary Society (WH&OMS) of the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E) Zion Church has presented some sanitary items and bags of goodies to the maternity unit of the Tema Polyclinic.

The bags of goodies given to the mothers contained baby soaps, diapers, antiseptics, towels and tissue papers.

The presentation was led by Madam Christine Atsupi Tudzi, the District President of the WH&OMS in Tema.

Madam Tudzi said the gesture was part of the group's mandate to see to the welfare of mothers and their newborns.

According to her, the group thought it wise to donate the sanitary items to help maintain clean and safe environments in the wards in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Mrs. Cynthia Serwaa Dogbe, the Missionary Supervisor of the Western West Africa Episcopal District of the A.M.E  Zion Church, added that the group is ready to support the maternity unit to ensure that both mother and child are safe and healthy.

Receiving the items, Madam Matilda Akuaku, a Senior Midwifery Officer, expressed her appreciation to the group for the gesture and called on other benevolent individuals and institutions to support the unit in order to deliver quality services.

Madam Hamda Yakubu, a mother at the ward, expressed gratitude to the group and promised to put the items to good use.
